New Jersey

Mark Earley
Mark Lawrence Earley (born July 26, 1954) is an American attorney and former politician. A Republican, he was elected to the Virginia State Senate (1988–1998), and then elected Attorney General of Virginia (1998 to 2001). In 2001, he resigned as Attorney General to focus his time on the 2001 campaign for Governor of Virginia. He ran to succeed James Gilmore, but lost to Democrat Mark Warner. Biography Earley was born in Norfolk and graduated from the College of William and Mary, receiving first an undergraduate degree in religion and later a J.D. degree. He is married to the former Cynthia Breithaupt and a father of six children. After admission to the Virginia bar, Earley had a private legal practice in Norfolk for fifteen years. Froilan Tenorio
Froilan Cruz "Lang" Tenorio (September 9, 1939 – May 4, 2020) was a Northern Mariana Islander politician who was the fourth governor of the Northern Mariana Islands. Elected in 1993, he served one term from January 10, 1994 to January 12, 1998. During his governorship and most of his political career, Tenorio was a member of the Democratic Party of the Northern Mariana Islands, which was not then affiliated with the American Democratic Party. However, he later switched his affiliation to the Covenant Party. As of 2021, he is the last Democrat to serve as governor of the territory. Jesus "Jesse" Camacho Borja (born September 14, 1948) is a Northern Mariana Islander politician and lawyer who served as the fourth lieutenant governor of the Northern Mariana Islands from January 10, 1994 until January 12, 1998 under former Democratic Governor Froilan Tenorio. Benigno Fitial
Benigno Repeki Fitial (born November 27, 1945) is a Northern Marianan politician who served was the seventh governor of the Northern Mariana Islands. The second longest-serving governor in CNMI history, Fitial was elected on November 6, 2005, assumed office on January 9, 2006, and was re-elected to a (five-year) second term in 2009. He was impeached by the CNMI House of Representatives on February 11, 2013, and was scheduled to face trial before the CNMI Senate to determine if he should be removed from office. He resigned on February 20, 2013, after 7 years, 1 month, and 11 days in office. Fitial founded the Covenant Party in 2001 after leaving the Republican Party. Juan Nekai Babauta (born September 7, 1953) is a Northern Mariana Islander politician who served as the sixth governor of the Northern Mariana Islands from January 14, 2002 to January 9, 2006. Biography Early life and education Juan Babauta was born in Tanapag, Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands on September 7, 1953. He is the oldest of his family's nine children. Babauta completed elementary school on Saipan. His parents then sent him to the mainland United States to continue his education. Babuata moved to Enosburg Falls, Vermont where he attended Enosburg Falls High School while living on a dairy farm with a host family for three years. The 2001 Northern Mariana Islands gubernatorial election was held on 3 November 2001, in order to elect the Governor of the Northern Mariana Islands. Republican nominee and incumbent Resident Representative of the Northern Mariana Islands Juan Babauta defeated Covenant nominee and incumbent Speaker of the Northern Mariana Islands House of Representatives Benigno Fitial, Democratic nominee and former Lieutenant Governor of the Northern Mariana Islands Jesus Borja and Reform nominee and former Governor Froilan Tenorio. General election On election day, 3 November 2001, Republican nominee Juan Babauta won the election by a margin of 2,231 votes against his foremost opponent Covenant nominee Benigno Fitial, thereby retaining Republican control over the office of Governor. Pedro "Teno" Pangelinan Tenorio (April 18, 1934 – May 21, 2018) was a Northern Mariana Islander politician who served as the second and fifth governor of the Northern Mariana Islands from January 11, 1982 to January 8, 1990 and then from January 12, 1998 to January 14, 2002. Mark Robert Warner (born December 15, 1954) is an American businessman and politician serving as the senior United States senator from Virginia, a seat he has held since 2009.
