Stuart O'Grady
Stuart O'Grady (born 6 August 1973) is a retired Australian professional road bicycle racer, who rode as a professional between 1995 and 2013. A former track cyclist, O'Grady and Graeme Brown won a gold medal in the Men's Madison at the 2004 Summer Olympics. O'Grady also won Paris–Roubaix in 2007. O'Grady competed in the Tour de France from 1997 and contended for the points classification in the Tour de France known as the green jersey, finishing second in the 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2005 races. He wore the yellow jersey of general classification leader in 1998 and 2001. With his participation in the 2013 Tour de France, he tied George Hincapie's record of 17 participations in the Tour de France. Victor Harbor, South Australia
Victor Harbor is a town in the Australian state of South Australia located within the City of Victor Harbor on the south coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula, about south of the state capital of Adelaide city centre, Adelaide. Nick Gates (cyclist)
Nick Gates (born 10 March 1972 in Sydney) is an Australian former professional road bicycle racer. In 1996 Gates won the Commonwealth Bank Classic and the Australian national road race title. Gates twice competed in the Tour de France, riding for the Lotto-Domo team, but failed to finish either event, pulling out after the 15th stage in 2003 and after the first stage in 2004. His career ended with a fairytale victory in his self-named event, the Nick Gates Classic, in Townsville in 2008, where he won with the assistance of long-time teammate, Robbie McEwen. David McKenzie (cyclist)
David McKenzie (born 6 August 1974) is an Australian former racing cyclist. He won the Australian national road race title in 1998. McKenzie's biggest victory came on stage 7 of the 2000 Giro d'Italia where he rode to victory after a 164 km solo breakaway. McKenzie won the Goulburn to Sydney Classic in 2005. Tanunda, South Australia
Tanunda is a town situated in the Barossa Valley region of South Australia, 70 kilometres north-east of the state capital, Adelaide. The town derives its name from an Aboriginal word meaning ''water hole''. The town's population is approximately 4600. The postcode is 5352 Settlement Prussian immigrants who arrived with Pastor Gotthard Fritzsche founded the village of Bethanien in 1842, the first settlement in the vicinity of today's Tanunda. One year later, Prussians relocating from Klemzig on the Torrens River, where they had settled upon immigrating in 1838 with Pastor August Kavel, came to the Barossa Valley and founded the village of Langmeil. Gawler is the oldest country town on the Australian mainland in the state of South Australia. It was named after the second Governor (British Vice-Regal representative) of the colony of South Australia, George Gawler. It is about north of the centre of the state capital, Adelaide, and is close to the major wine producing district of the Barossa Valley. Luke Justin Roberts (born 25 January 1977) is a sports director and former Australian racing cyclist specialising in both track cycling and road bicycle racing. Born in Adelaide, South Australia, he resides both in Adelaide and in Cologne, Germany. Coming from a cycle racing family, he started competitive cycling at the age of 13, and turned professional in 2002.
