2001 NHK Trophy
The 2001 NHK Trophy was the final event of six in the 2001–02 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at the Aqua Dome Kumamoto in Kumamoto on November 29 – December 2. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Skaters earned points toward qualifying for the 2001–02 Grand Prix Final. ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (known as ISU Champions Series from 1995 to 1997) is a series of senior international figure skating competitions organized by the International Skating Union. The invitational series was inaugurated in 1995, incorporating several previously existing events. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The junior-level equivalent is the ISU Junior Grand Prix. Ivan Dinev
Ivan Dinev ( bg, Иван Динев; born November 8, 1978) is a Bulgarian former competitive figure skater. He is a three-time Grand Prix medalist, an 11-time Bulgarian national champion, and competed at three Olympics. Career In the 1997–98 season, Dinev won two gold medals on the ISU Junior Series and qualified for the Final where he took the silver medal. He competed at his first Olympics in 1998, finishing 11th. At the 1999 World Championships, Dinev became the first Bulgarian skater to land a quadruple toe loop in competition. He won bronze at the 1999 Trophée Lalique, becoming the first skater from his country to medal at a Grand Prix event. At the 2000 Sparkassen Cup, Dinev's blade broke during a warmup before the free skate; he bought a replacement of a different brand and finished 5th. Ann Patrice McDonough (born May 29, 1985) is an American former competitive figure skater. She is the 2002 World Junior champion and the 2003 U.S. national pewter medalist. Yoshie Onda
is a Japanese figure skater. She is the 2005 Four Continents silver medalist and 2001-2002 bronze medalist. Career Onda started taking skating lessons at the age of eight. Onda became the first Japanese female figure skater to win a Grand Prix series title when she won the Bofrost Cup on Ice in Gelsenkirchen, Germany in 2002. She also won the NHK Trophy that same season. Throughout her career, Onda attempted to land a triple axel in her programs, but never did so successfully. Roman Skorniakov (russian: Роман Скорняков; born 17 February 1976, in Sverdlovsk) is a Russian-born figure skater who mainly represented Uzbekistan. He represented Russia early in his career before switching to Uzbekistan in 1996. Skorniakov is the 1997–2003 Uzbekistani national champion.
