Michael Søgaard
Michael Skals Søgaard (born 4 February 1969) is a badminton player from Denmark. Career Søgaard made his debut at the national team in 1992. Since then he has won many tournaments for Denmark. Played for the Kastrup-Magleby BK, he has won ten National Championships titles, three bronze medals at the World Championships, and won the mixed doubles title at the World Grand Prix Finals. Summer Olympics He played badminton at the 1996 Summer Olympics in men's doubles and mixed doubles. In men's doubles, Søgaard and his partner Henrik Svarrer were defeated in the round of 16 by Ricky Subagja and Rexy Mainaky of Indonesia 15-10, 15-7. Chen Yu (badminton)
Chen Yu (born 8 May 1980) is a former Chinese badminton player from Nanning, Guangxi. Career Chen had joined the Guangxi team in 1993, and was selected to join the national team in 1998. Chen won the men's singles title at the Chinese National Championships in 2002 and 2003. On the international badminton circuit he won the 2006 Thailand Open by defeating two fellow countrymen (and two fellow "Chens"), Chen Hong in the semifinals, and Chen Jin in a very close final. Outside of that victory he has had trouble breaking through, but has been runner-up in the Denmark (2003, 2006), Singapore (2003, 2007), and German Opens (2007), and at the prestigious All-England Championships in 2007. Richard Vaughan (badminton)
Richard Vaughan (born 16 April 1978) is a Welsh and British badminton player from Llanbradach, Caerphilly, Wales. Vaughan was the Chief Executive of Badminton Ireland between 2011 - 2015. In 2014 Vaughan joined the board of Badminton Europe (a member of the Badminton World Federation). He chairs the high-performance commission, which has overseen the development of a World Training Centre in Denmark. Between 2015-2020 Vaughan was the CEO of Squash Australia, where he oversaw the sport rebranding, topping the medal table at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games. A new National Training Centre was opened on the Gold Coast in late 2018. Rony Agustinus (born 7 October 1978) is an Indonesian former badminton player, who now works as a badminton coach. As a junior player, he represented his country at the 1996 World Junior Championships and won the bronze medal in the boys' singles event. In 1997, he finished as a semi-finalist at the French and Indonesia International tournaments. He took the silver medal at the 2000 Asian Championships but was defeated by his teammate Taufik Hidayat in the final. Taufik Hidayat (born 10 August 1981) is an Indonesian retired badminton player. He is a former World, Olympic, Asian Games, and Asian champion, and the youngest world number one in the men's singles. Dicky Palyama (born March 26, 1978 in Gouda) is a male badminton player from the Netherlands. Early career After winning four junior titles in the Netherlands between 1994 and 1996, Dicky took the European junior U19 title in 1997. George Rimarcdi
George Rimarcdi (born 1 March 1975) is an Indonesian-born Swedish retired badminton player. He represented Indonesia at the 1992 World Junior Championships, clinched a silver medal in the boys' singles event, and in 1997 he won a men's singles title at the Indonesia National Championships. He moved to Sweden since 1999, competed in the national event for Uppsala team. Rimarcdi won five Swedish National Championships titles, four in the singles, and once in the doubles events. After ending his career in Sweden, he returned to Indonesia and started a career as a coach in Exist club. He is currently a men's single coach for Indonesian national pratama (junior) team.
