John Gilligan (Irish Criminal)
John Gilligan (born 28 March 1952) is a convicted Irish gangster. Provisional Irish Republican Army
The Irish Republican Army (IRA; ), also known as the Provisional Irish Republican Army, and informally as the Provos, was an Irish republican paramilitary organisation that sought to end British rule in Northern Ireland, facilitate Irish reunification and bring about an independent, socialist republic encompassing all of Ireland. The People In Need Trust
The People in Need Trust was a charity in Ireland. It was deregistered in 2016. Its main fundraiser, the RTÉ People in Need Telethon, was broadcast by RTÉ from 1989 until 2007 and supported by Eircom (formerly Telecom Éireann), raising more than €35 million in total. The theme tune was " Come On Everybody" by Eddie Cochran. As with ''The Late Late Toy Show'', Gay Byrne presented it wearing distinctive knitted jumpers. Previously there was Self Aid on 17 May 1986 followed by Telethon For The Homeless on 10 June 1988. The event was replaced by RTÉ Does Comic Relief on 26 June 2020. Fastnet Rock
Fastnet Lighthouse is a 54m high lighthouse situated on the remote Fastnet Rock in the Atlantic Ocean. It is the most southerly point of Ireland and lies southwest of Cape Clear Island and from County Cork on the Irish mainland. The current lighthouse is the second to be built on the rock and is the tallest in Ireland. First lighthouse Construction of the first lighthouse began in 1853, and it first produced a light on 1 January 1854. The lighthouse replaced an early one built on Cape Clear Island in 1818, partly motivated by the loss of an American sailing packet, '' Stephen Whitney'', in thick fog during November 1847 on nearby West Calf Island causing the death of 92 of her 110 passengers and crew. Clive Eric Cussler (July 15, 1931 – February 24, 2020) was an American adventure novelist and underwater explorer. Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council
The Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) is an independent statutory organisation responsible for implementing, monitoring and further developing the standards of care provided by all statutory, private and voluntary ambulance services in Ireland. It is also responsible for conducting examinations at six levels of pre-hospital care, the control of ambulance practitioner registration and the publication of clinical practice guidelines. Levels of Care There are six skill levels obtainable. They are divided into responder and practitioner categories. As of September 2019, all practitioners working on an emergency ambulance must be trained to a minimum of paramedic, however in 2021 this minimum requirement was temporarily waived allowing an EMT to crew with a paramedic or advanced paramedic for the remainder of the COVID-19 era. Howth Junction & Donaghmede railway station ( ga, Stáisiún Ghabhal Bhinn Éadair agus Dhomhnach Míde) serves the area of Donaghmede, and parts of Kilbarrack in Dublin, Ireland. One entrance is located in Donaghmede, the other in Kilbarrack, and it is where the line to Howth branches off the Belfast–Dublin line, making it the key exchange station on the northern section of the DART suburban railway system. History Howth Junction station opened on 1 October 1848. 2021 assault A woman was knocked onto a rail track at the station around 9pm on 1 April 2021. CCTV of the incident circulated on social media. It showed teens standing on the platform. When one woman ran by, two teens attempted to shove her, one of them moving his bike into her path. Greystones Railway Station
Greystones railway station ( ga, Stáisiún na gCloch Liath) is a railway station in Greystones, County Wicklow, Ireland. It is the southern terminus of the DART electrified rail network. Facilities and services The station has two platforms; platform 1 on the west side of the station (where the station building is located) and platform 2 over the footbridge on the east side of the station. Platform 2 is used only a few times a day, when DART and InterCity services are in the station at the same time. There are also sidings to the east of the station. Entrance to the station building is only possible from Church Road. The station houses one retail unit, currently occupied by a café (previously an estate agent), a ticket office and two electronic ticket machines. Toilets are also available on Platform 1. Bray (Daly) Railway Station (''Stáisiún Bhré / Uí Dhálaigh'' in Irish) is a station in Bray in County Wicklow, Ireland. It is located adjacent to Bray seafront and is 600 m from Bray Main Street via Florence Road or Quinsborough Road. Bray marks the end of the double track line from Dublin and is the end point for most suburban services, with train stabling facilities convenient to the station.
