German Television
Television in Germany began in Berlin on 22 March 1935, broadcasting for 90 minutes three times a week. It was home to the first public television station in the world, named ''Fernsehsender Paul Nipkow''. In 2000, the German television market had approximately 36.5 million television households, making it the largest television market in Europe. Nowadays, 95% of German households have at least one television receiver. All the main German TV channels are free-to-air. History In 1948 the British occupation forces allowed NWDR to broadcast television programmes for the British zone. Other regional networks also started to launch television in their own areas. My Fragile Heart
''My Fragile Heart'' is a two-part British television crime drama miniseries, written by Abi Morgan, that first broadcast on ITV on 17 September 2000. The series starred Sarah Lancashire as Trina Lavery, a young woman who returns to her childhood home to look after her terminally ill mother, only to find the man accused of the murder of her best friend several years ago living nearby. The series was directed by Gavin Millar, with Rebecca De Souza acting as producer. The first episode gathered 9.82 million viewers. Episode two dipped slightly; gathering 9.58 million. ''Preston Pig'' is a British traditionally animated children's television series which aired on CITV. It was based on a series of books, published by Colin McNaughton. It was shown at weekdays from 3pm until 3:15pm, on the television channel shown in Britain, CITV. However, since 2011, it no longer airs on CITV. ''Mega Babies'' is an animated children's television series created by the Tremblay brothers, Christian and Yvon, who previously had made the Hanna-Barbera show '' SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron''. It is produced by CinéGroupe and Landmark Entertainment Group in association with Sony Wonder. The series was broadcast on Fox Family Channel and Teletoon. The show was also aired in UK on Sky One's weekday mornings and later repeated on Channel 5 on weekend mornings between 2001 and 2002. ''Pocket Dragon Adventures'' (Spanish: ''Pocket Dragons'') is an animated series produced by the Spanish animation studio D'Ocon Films Productions, in co-production with Televisión Española, Bohbot Entertainment, and DIC Productions. The series is based on the Pocket Dragon character created by artist Real Musgrave, best known from Pocket Dragons figurines also based on his work. ''Rotten Ralph'' is a series of children's picture books written by Jack Gantos and illustrated by Nicole Rubel. About twenty ''Rotten Ralph'' books have been published from 1976 to 2011. ORF 1 (''ORF eins'') is an Austrian public television channel owned by ORF. It was the first television channel in Austria, started in 1955. ORF 1 is one of four public TV channels in Austria.
