2000 Norwegian Second Division
The 2000 2. divisjon was the third highest football (soccer) league for men in Norway. 22 games were played in 8 groups, with 3 points given for wins and 1 for draws. Ørn-Horten, Mandalskameratene, Hødd and Aalesund were promoted to the First Division through playoffs against the other 4 group winners. Because of the league being streamlined for the next season, more teams than usual—number nine, ten, eleven and twelve—were relegated to the 3. divisjon. The winning teams from each of the 24 groups in the 3. divisjon faced some teams placed seven and eight (except for the three worst eight-place teams) in the 2. divisjon in three-way playoff matches, resulting in 10 playoff winners which stayed or were promoted to the 2. divisjon. Årvoll Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Årvoll, Bjerke, Oslo. It has sections for association football, team handball, volleyball, orienteering and Nordic skiing. It was founded on 16 October 1932. The club colors are red and blue. Their home field is Årvoll kunstgress. The men's football team currently plays in the Fourth Division, the fifth tier of Norwegian football, after being relegated from the Third Division in 2010. Sarpsborg FK
Sarpsborg Fotballklubb is a Norwegian football club from Sarpsborg, Viken. It was founded on 8 May 1903. Sarpsborg is one of the most successful teams in the Norwegian Football Cup, with six titles and twelve finals in total. In 2007, the club merged into the club that is now called Sarpsborg 08, and today Sarpsborg FK is an amateur club playing in the 4. divisjon, the fifth tier of Norwegian league system. History Sarpsborg played their first cup final as early as 1906, which they lost against Odd. In 1917, in Sarpsborg's third final, the club won its first title after Brann was beaten 4-1. Elverum Fotball is the association football section of the sports club Elverum IL from Elverum, Norway. They compete in the 3. divisjon, the fourth tier in the Norwegian football league system. History It was founded on 30 June 1907 under the name ''Elverum Footballklub''. Elverum played in the 2. divisjon for many years. In 1995, it won its group and was promoted to the 1996 1. divisjon, but was relegated after one year. Between 2000 and 2004, Elverum was relegated and promoted every other year; they played in the 3. divisjon from 2005 to 2010. Asker Fotball
Asker Fotball is the football department of Norwegian sports club Asker SK from Asker. The women's football team is one of the most successful clubs ever in Norway, with 6 top flight championships and 5 cup championships. Due to financial difficulties at the end of 2008, the team's licence to play in the Toppserien was revoked; the team members then joined Stabæk IF's football group, Stabæk Fotball, which set up a new women's team. NFF gave Asker's place in the Toppserien to Stabæk Fotball. Asker's second team became Asker's first team, playing in the 2. divisjon, and they now have a recruiting arrangement with Stabæk Fotball. Norwegian reserve football teams compete at all levels of league football within the Norwegian football league system apart from the top two divisions, Eliteserien and 1. divisjon. The highest league these teams can currently enter is the 2. divisjon, set at the third tier of the league system. The reserve teams are attached to their first teams with a "2" suffix and must play in a lower league than the first team. Furthermore, if a club's first team plays in the 1. divisjon, the reserves team cannot play in the 2. divisjon either. If a reserve team ends up at a promotion spot when it is not allowed to be promoted, the promotion is awarded to best following team in the league standings which is allowed to be promoted. Fredrikstad Fotballklubb (also known as Fredrikstad or FFK) is a Norwegian football club from the town of Fredrikstad. With nine league championships and eleven Norwegian Cup wins, FFK is one of the most successful clubs in Norwegian football. The club was founded in 1903. After suffering relegation from the then 1st division in 1984, Fredrikstad spent 18 years outside the top flight, before returning to the top division in 2003 after two successive promotions.
