The Copa del Rey de Baloncesto (English: '' King's Cup of Basketball'') is an annual cup competition for Spanish basketball teams organized by Spain's top professional league, the Liga ACB. History Originally known as the ''Copa de España de Baloncesto'', was first played in 1933 and contested in its first editions only by teams from the provinces of Madrid and Barcelona. It was the first nationwide basketball competition played in Spain. During the Francoism, it was referred to as the ''Copa del Generalísimo de Baloncesto'', before becoming the ''Copa del Rey de Baloncesto'' in 1977. Real Betis Baloncesto S.A.D., simply known as Real Betis, is a professional basketball team based in Seville, Spain. The team plays in the Liga ACB. It plays its home games at San Pablo. Nacho Azofra
Ignacio "Nacho" Azofra de la Cuesta (born 23 July 1969) is a retired Spanish professional basketball player. He played most of his career for Estudiantes, with two brief spells playing for Caja San Fernando and Lagun Aro Bilbao. He also played for the Spain national basketball team. Professional career A 1.85 m (6'1') tall point guard, Azofra led the EuroLeague in assists, with 5.6 per game in the 1992–93 season. He spent almost his whole career playing for Estudiantes, with which he reached the 1992 EuroLeague Final Four, and a Korać Cup final in 1999. Alfonso Reyes Cabanás (born September 19, 1971) is a retired Spanish professional basketball player. Reyes finished his club playing career with the Spanish club Leche Río Breogán. Professional career During his pro career, Reyes won the two Spanish King's Cup tournaments (1992, 2000), and he was named the MVP of the 2000 tournament. He announced his retirement from playing professional basketball in May 2007. National team career Reyes played with the senior Spanish national basketball team at the following major FIBA tournaments: the 1995 EuroBasket, the 1997 EuroBasket, the 1998 FIBA World Cup, the 1999 EuroBasket, the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics, the 2001 EuroBasket, the 2002 FIBA World Cup, and the 2003 EuroBasket. Performance Index Rating (PIR) is a basketball mathematical statistical formula that is used by the Euroleague Basketball Company's first and second tier competitions, the EuroLeague and the EuroCup, as well as various European national domestic and regional leagues. It is a part of the Tendex basketball rating system. It is also variously referred to as Performance Index Ranking, Rating, Ranking, Evaluation, Valuation, and Efficiency. Bernard Anthony Hopkins White (born January 13, 1973) is an American-Spanish retired professional basketball player. Hopkins is a 6'6", 235-pound power forward. He played college ball at Hagerstown Community College for two seasons before transferring to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) for his final two.
