27th Guards Vitebsk Red Banner Rocket Army (russian: 27-я Гвардейская Витебская Краснознамённая ракетная армия) is one of the 3 rocket armies within Russian Strategic Rocket Forces headquartered at Vladimir, Vladimir Oblast in Western Russia. The 7th Guards Missile Rezhitskaya Red Flag division (7 GRD) – is a (military unit 14245) of the 27th Guards Missile Army, Strategic Rocket Forces located in Ozyorny, Bologovsky District, Tver region, Russia. Abbreviated name - 7 RD History On 14 July 1943, on the basis of the 79th guards cannon artillery regiment in the Staraya Russa region, the 19th Separate guards cannon artillery brigade was formed. On 27 July 1944, for courage and heroism to the personnel in the battles for the liberation of the city of Rezekne, the brigade was commended by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, and was awarded the honorary title "Rezhitskaya" During the Great Patriotic War, the brigade fought from Staraya Russa to Saldus ( Latvia).
