XXII Reserve Corps
The XXII Reserve Corps (german: XXII. Reserve-Korps / XXII RK) was a corps level command of the German Army in World War I. Formation XXII Reserve Corps was formed in October 1914. It was part of the first wave of new Corps formed at the outset of World War I consisting of XXII - XXVII Reserve Corps of 43rd - 54th Reserve Divisions (plus 6th Bavarian Reserve Division). The personnel was predominantly made up of (wartime volunteers) who did not wait to be called up. It was still in existence at the end of the war. XXII Corps (Union Army)
XXII Corps was a corps in the Union Army during the American Civil War. It was created on February 2, 1863, to consist of all troops garrisoned in Washington, D.C., and included three infantry divisions and one of cavalry (under Judson Kilpatrick, which left to join the Army of the Potomac during the Gettysburg Campaign). Many of its units were transferred to the Army of the Potomac during Grant's Overland Campaign. This Corps did not include the many regiments that passed through Washington, D.C., on the way to the front or away from it. The British XXII Corps was a British infantry corps during World War I. History British XXII Corps was formed in France in December 1917, from what was left of II ANZAC, once the Australian divisions had left to form the Australian Corps.
