2025 America East Men's Basketball Tournament
The 2025 America East Men's Basketball Conference tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for the America East Conference. It was held March 8–15, 2025, at campus sites of the higher seeds. The winner, Bryant, received the conference's automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Tournament. The tournament was sponsored by Jersey Mike's Subs and was officially known as the 2025 Jersey Mike's America East Men's Basketball Playoffs. Seeds Eight of the nine America East teams qualified for the tournament. The teams were seeded by record in conference, with a tiebreaker system to seed teams with identical conference records. Chace Athletic Center
Elizabeth and Malcolm Chace Wellness and Athletic Center is a multi-purpose arena in Smithfield, Rhode Island. It is home to the Bryant University Bulldogs men's and women's basketball teams as well as the women's volleyball team. The venue received additions in the 2000s and 2010s under Bryant President Ronald Machtley and athletic director Bill Smith. Its current capacity is 2,000 with upgrades that include over 650 chairback seats opposite the team benches in 2018. The 2018 upgrades also included new basketball locker rooms, a press conference room, and improved locker rooms for Bryant's swimming & diving programs, whose pool is connected to the original structure with the Chace gym. The Chace became infamous following a brawl between fans of Wagner College and Bryant in the 2022 Northeast Conference men's basketball tournament championship game. 2024–25 UMBC Retrievers Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 UMBC Retrievers men's basketball team represented the University of Maryland, Baltimore County during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Retrievers, led by fourth-year head coach Jim Ferry, played their home games at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Catonsville, Maryland as members of the America East Conference. They finished the season 13–19, 5–11 in America East play to finish in eighth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the America East tournament to Bryant. It was held March 6–14, 2025 at the campus sites of the higher seeds. Vermont defeated Albany 62–55 in the Final. Vermont will receive the conference's automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Tournament. America East Conference Men's Basketball Tournament
The America East men's basketball tournament, popularly known as the America East Playoffs, is the annual concluding tournament for the NCAA college basketball in the America East Conference. The winner of the annual tournament gains an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. Format and hosts As of 2013, the first rounds take place at a single location, usually the home arena of one of the conference schools, but the championship game is hosted the next weekend by the higher remaining seed. The 2013 and 2014 Tournament preliminary rounds were hosted by the University at Albany. Beginning in 2015, the format was changed from a single location in the first rounds to multiple locations. For every round, including the finals the higher seeded team in each game hosts. After the first round, teams are reseeded to account for upsets that may have occurred.
