2024–25 Youngstown State Penguins Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 Youngstown State Penguins men's basketball team represented Youngstown State University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Penguins, led by first-year head coach Ethan Faulkner, played their home games at the Beeghly Center located in Youngstown, Ohio as members of the Horizon League. Previous season The Penguins finished the 2023–24 season 22–10, 14–6 in Horizon League play, to finish in second place. They were upset by Cleveland State in the quarterfinals of the Horizon League tournament. On March 30, 2024, it was announced that head coach Jerrod Calhoun would be accepting the head coaching position at Utah State. On April 1, assistant coach Ethan Faulkner was named Calhoun's successor. Ethan Faulkner
Ethan Faulkner (born June 11, 1990) is an American basketball coach and former player, who is currently the head coach of the Youngstown State Penguins men's basketball team. Faulkner played college basketball for the Northern Kentucky Norse. In 2024, he was named the head coach of the Youngstown State Penguins men's basketball team. High school career Faulkner was a standout point guard at Elliott County High School in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, winning the 16th Region Tournament MVP three years in a row. He and his twin brother, Evan, had led the Lions to the Kentucky Boy's Sweet 16 tournament three years in a row. As a senior, he led the Lions to the state semi-finals, where they were defeated by eventual state champion Holmes Junior/Senior High School 67–57. VCU Rams Men's Basketball
The VCU Rams men's basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball team that represents Virginia Commonwealth University. The Rams joined the Atlantic 10 Conference in the 2012–13 season after previously competing in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). In 2017, VCU was ranked the 40th most valuable men's basketball program in the country by ''The Wall Street Journal''. With a valuation of $56.9 million, VCU ranked second in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and second in the A-10 Conference. Hubbard is a city in southeastern Trumbull County, Ohio, United States. It is formed from part of Hubbard Township, which was formed from the Connecticut Western Reserve. The population was 7,636 at the 2020 census. It is a suburb in the Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area. History The village takes its name from Nehemiah Hubbard, Jr., a Connecticut Land Company agent from Middletown, Connecticut. Friends Select School (FSS) is a college-preparatory, Quaker school for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade located at 1651 Benjamin Franklin Parkway at the intersection of Cherry and N. 17th Streets in Center City Philadelphia.
