2024–25 SIU Edwardsville Cougars Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 SIU Edwardsville Cougars men's basketball team represented Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Cougars, led by sixth-year head coach Brian Barone, play their home games at the First Community Arena in Edwardsville, Illinois as members of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC). As the No. 2 seed in the OVC tournament, the Cougars defeated Tennessee State and Southeast Missouri State to win the tournament championship. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament, the school's first-ever trip to the tournament. Previous season The Cougars finished the 2023–24 season 17–16, 9–9 in OVC play to finish in sixth place. Brian Barone
Brian Barone is the head coach of the men's basketball team at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), an National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA Division I (NCAA), Division I program competing in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC). Coaching history Barone began his coaching career as a junior college assistant at Central Florida Community College, then at Garden City Community College in Kansas. He began his Division I coaching career at Illinois State Redbirds men's basketball, Illinois State under head coach Porter Moser, currently the head men's basketball coach at Oklahoma Sooners men's basketball, Oklahoma. Belleville High School East is a public high school in Belleville, Illinois, United States. It is part of Belleville Township High School District 201. It was established in 1966. History Prior to 1966, Belleville Township School District operated only one school, Belleville Township High School, which was the old Belleville West campus (a new campus has since been built). The growth of the district prompted the local board of education to construct a new campus and divide the student body between the two schools.
