2024–25 North Carolina Tar Heels Men's Basketball Team
The 2024–25 North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team represented the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by coach Hubert Davis in his fourth season as UNC's head coach, and is assisted by Jeff Lebo, Sean May, and Brad Frederick. Hubert Davis
Hubert Ira Davis Jr. (born May 17, 1970) is an American college basketball coach and former professional player who is the head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball, North Carolina Tar Heels men's team. Before his coaching career, Davis played for North Carolina from 1988 to 1992 and in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the New York Knicks, Toronto Raptors, Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons, and New Jersey Nets from 1992 to 2004. He holds the franchise single-season and career three-point field goal shooting percentage records for both the Knicks and the Mavericks. He is the nephew of Walter Davis (basketball), Walter Davis, another former Tar Heel and NBA player. The 2024–25 NC State Wolfpack men's basketball team represented North Carolina State University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Wolfpack were led by eighth-year head coach Kevin Keatts and played their home games at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina as members of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). North Carolina–NC State Rivalry
The North Carolina–NC State rivalry, also known as the State-Carolina game, Carolina–State Game, North Carolina–NC State game, NCSU–UNC game, and other similar permutations, is an ongoing series of athletic competitions between the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Tar Heels and North Carolina State University Wolfpack. CBS Sports Classic
The CBS Sports Classic is an annual American men's college basketball event that began in 2014. Four teams take part annually in the event. From the inception of the classic through 2024, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio State, and UCLA each participated. Each team played one game each year (except for 2021 due to Covid cancellations), with the four teams completing a double-header. Both games are annually broadcast on U.S. television on CBS, the Classic's namesake. On July 21, 2022, the CBS Sports Classic was renewed through 2026.
