2024–25 Liga Primera De Nicaragua
The 2024–25 Liga Primera de Nicaragua football season was to be divided into two tournaments, Apertura and Clausura. The season will determine the 81st and 82nd champions in the history of the Liga Primera de Nicaragua, the top division of football in Nicaragua. The Apertura tournament is to be played in the second half of 2024, while the Clausura is to be played in the first half of 2025. Teams Team information A total of ten teams contested the league, including nine sides from the 2023–24 Primera División, and one side from the 2023–24 Segunda División. Masachapa FC finished last in the aggregate table and were relegated to the Segunda División. The champions from the Segunda División, Rancho Santana FC, were promoted in their place. The 9th place team in the aggregate table, Matagalpa FC, faced the second-place team from the Segunda División, Juventus Managua, in a playoff for a spot in the Primera División. Liga Primera De Nicaragua
The Liga Primera de Nicaragua is the top division of football in Nicaragua, organized by the Federación Nicaragüense de Fútbol. It was created in 1933. The league is played in two parts, the ''Torneo de Apertura'' from August through November and ''Torneo de Clausura'' from January through May. Each of the regular seasons is followed by a playoff of the top four teams over a two-legged semifinal and subsequent final. The relegation end has the bottom team of the aggregate table dropped as well as the defeated one from the playoff match between the 8th and 9th-place teams. Club sport Sébaco is a Nicaraguan football team currently playing in the Nicaraguan Primera División. They are based in Sebaco. History The club was founded in 2018 as H&H Export Sébaco FC. The club was founded to replace the defunct team Deportivo Sébaco. Juan Ramón Barrera Pérez (born 2 May 1989) is a Nicaraguan professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Liga Primera club Managua and captains the Nicaragua national team. Club career Nicknamed ''el Iluminado'', he started his professional career at Real Estelí, then had a couple of seasons at Walter Ferretti. Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Nicaragua – Managua is a Nicaraguan football team playing in the Primera División de Nicaragua of the Nicaragua football system. It is based in Managua. History UNAN Managua was founded in 1983, but did not break into the first division until 1985. UNAN Managua has spent much of its history struggling to earn promotion to the top flight.
