2024–25 All-Ireland League (rugby Union)
The 2024–25 All-Ireland League, known as the All-Ireland League (rugby union), Energia All-Ireland League for sponsorship reasons, was the 33rd season of Irish Rugby Football Union, Irish Rugby's top level domestic competition. The League began on 20 September 2024 and finished with the League final at the Aviva Stadium, Dublin on 27 April 2025. Cork Constitution F.C., Cork Constitution were the defending champions having won their 7th title by defeating defending champions Terenure College RFC, Terenure College in the 2023-24 League Final. They reached the final again but were defeated by Clontarf RFC, Clontarf who won their fourth A.I.L. title. Ballyclare RFC, Ballyclare were competing in the League for the first time ever after gaining promotion to Division 2C by winning the Provincial League Championship final. Irish Rugby Football Union
The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) () is the body managing rugby union in the island of Ireland (both Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland). The IRFU has its head office at 10/12 Lansdowne Road and home ground at Aviva Stadium, where adult men's Ireland national rugby union team, Irish rugby union international matches are played. In addition, the Union also owns the Ravenhill Stadium in Belfast, Thomond Park in Limerick and a number of grounds in provincial areas that have been rented to clubs. Buccaneers RFC
Buccaneers Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club in Athlone, Ireland. They compete in Division 2A of the All-Ireland League. The club's colours are Black and Gold. Although the club grounds are currently located in Leinster, it has always competed at underage, junior and senior level leagues in Connacht as Athlone RFC had previously. History The team's name originates from the Shannon Buccaneers club founded by Diarmuid Murtagh from Athlone in the early 1930s. Fielding players such as British and Irish Lions captain Sammy Walker, the club later disbanded due to the Second World War. More recently, in the 1993/94 season, the Athlone and Ballinasloe amalgamated in order to take part in the All-Ireland League. They were initially known as Athlone-Ballinasloe before changing their name to Buccaneers. Ballinasloe withdrew from the amalgamation at the end of the 2005/06 season. Garryowen Football Club (Irish: ''Cumann Rugbaí Gharraí Eoin''), usually referred to as Garryowen, is a rugby union club from Limerick, Ireland. As at the 2024–25 season, it plays in Division 1A of the All-Ireland League. Historically, Garryowen has been one of the most successful clubs in Irish rugby union. St Mary's College RFC
St Mary's College Rugby Football Club is a rugby union club based in South Dublin, Ireland, playing in Division 1A of the All-Ireland League. The club was founded in 1900 by former pupils of St. Mary's College, Dublin and was originally known as Old St Mary's. They club won the Leinster Senior Cup for the first time in 1958. In 2000 they won the AIB League for the first time under the captaincy of Trevor Brennan. The club was formerly sited at College Drive, Templeogue from 1955 until the 1970s, including clubhouse and grounds which have since been developed as ''Fortfield Square'' apartments. Shannon Rugby Football Club is the most successful club in the All Ireland League, having won the competition nine times. They hail from Limerick near the banks of the Shannon river. Shannon RFC is a member of the '' Irish Rugby Football Union Munster Branch''. The club is one of the top amateur sides in Ireland has seen many of its players progress to professional and international rugby. The 1st XV plays in Division 1B of the All-Ireland League but were relegated to Division 2A for the following year finishing in last place. While the women's side compete in Division 1 of the Munster League. Shannon RFC fields underage teams for boys and girls from u6s - u20s. History Shannon RFC was founded on 18 February 1884, in the Shamrock Bar on Corbally Road in Limerick.
