2024–25 AHL Season
The 2024–25 AHL season will be the 89th season of the American Hockey League. The regular season will begin on October 11, 2024, and will end on April 20, 2025. The 2025 Calder Cup playoffs will follow the conclusion of the regular season. American Hockey League
The American Hockey League (AHL) is a professional ice hockey league based in the United States and Canada that serves as the primary Minor league#Ice hockey, developmental league for the National Hockey League (NHL). Since the 2010–11 AHL season, 2010–11 season, every team in the league has an affiliation agreement with one NHL team. When NHL teams do not have an AHL affiliate, players are assigned to AHL teams affiliated with other NHL teams. Twenty-six AHL teams are located in the United States and the remaining six are in Canada. The league offices are located in Springfield, Massachusetts, and its current president is Scott Howson. In general, a player must be at least 18 years of age to play in the AHL or not currently be beholden to a junior ice hockey team. Dan Bylsma
Daniel Brian Bylsma (; born September 19, 1970) is an American professional ice hockey coach and former player. He is the head coach of the Coachella Valley Firebirds of the American Hockey League (AHL). He was previously head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Buffalo Sabres in the National Hockey League (NHL), and was also an assistant coach for the Detroit Red Wings. He also was the former head coach of the United States men's national ice hockey team. Prior to coaching the Sabres, Bylsma was the head coach for the Pittsburgh Penguins, whom he led to a Stanley Cup championship in 2009, just four months after being promoted to Pittsburgh's head coaching position. Prior to coaching the Penguins, he played as a forward in the NHL with the Los Angeles Kings and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, and coached in the American Hockey League (AHL). Jean-François Houle
Jean-François Houle (born January 14, 1975) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the Laval Rocket in the American Hockey League (AHL). He was the head coach of the Bakersfield Condors during their last season in the ECHL. He was then hired by the Edmonton Oilers to be an assistant coach of their relocated AHL franchise that became the Bakersfield Condors in 2015, where he remained until 2021. Houle attended Clarkson University where he played NCAA Division I hockey with the Golden Knights men's ice hockey team. Laval Rocket
The Laval Rocket (french: Rocket de Laval) are a professional ice hockey team playing in the American Hockey League (AHL) as an affiliate of the National Hockey League (NHL)'s Montreal Canadiens. Based in Laval, Quebec, Canada, the Rocket play their home games at Place Bell. The franchise was previously based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, as the St. John's IceCaps. Jay Woodcroft (born August 11, 1976) is a Canadians, Canadian former professional ice hockey player who is the head coach of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Grant Martin Potulny (born March 4, 1980) is an American former professional ice hockey player. He is currently the head coach of the Northern Michigan Wildcats men's ice hockey team. Potulny was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the 5th round (157th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. James Stephen Smith (born 30 April 1963) is a Scottish-born Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman and former assistant coach of the Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1984–85 to 2000–01 and coached from 2010-11 to 2020-21. Kris Knoblauch (born September 24, 1978) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach, former player and the current head coach of the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL). The Hartford Wolf Pack are a professional ice hockey team based in Hartford, Connecticut. A member of the American Hockey League (AHL), they play their home games at the XL Center. The team was established in 1926 as the Providence Reds. After a series of relocations, the team moved to Hartford in 1997 as the Hartford Wolf Pack. Cameron Abbott (born October 24, 1983) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player, who predominantly played with Luleå HF of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and now serves as the head coach for Rögle BK of the SHL. Robert Nardella, Jr (born February 2, 1968) is an Italian-American former professional ice hockey defenseman who is currently the head coach of the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL).
