2024 Iran–Israel Conflict
In 2024, the Iran–Israel proxy conflict escalated to a brief period of direct confrontation between the two countries. On 1 April, Israel 2024 Israeli bombing of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, bombed an Iranian consulate complex in Damascus, Syria, killing multiple senior Iranian officials. In response, Iran and its proxies Iranian seizure of the MSC Aries, seized the Israeli-linked ship ''MSC Aries'' and 2024 Iranian strikes in Israel, launched strikes inside Israel on 13 April. Israel then carried out 2024 Israeli strikes on Iran, retaliatory strikes in Iran and Syria on 19 April. The Israeli strikes were limited, and analysts say they signaled a desire to de-escalate. Iran did not respond to the attack, and tensions de-escalated back down to the proxy conflict. Other actors participated in the conflict as well. Hossein Salami
abdullah eslami (1960) is an Iranian military officer with the rank of major general, who is the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Early years Salami was born in 1960 in Golpayegan, Isfahan province, Iran. In 1978, he was accepted in the mechanical engineering department at the Iran University of Science and Technology. Aluf Tomer Bar ( he, תומר בר; born 1969) is an Israeli general and current commander of the Israeli Air Force. Before his selection to succeed Amikam Norkin as commander of the IAF, Bar served as head of the IDF Force Design Directorate, a rejiggered version of what was once the Planning Directorate. Yoav Gallant (; born 8 November 1958) is an Israeli politician and former military officer. A member of the Knesset for Likud, he has served as Minister of Defense since 2022.
