2024 Imola Formula 2 Round
The 2024 Imola FIA Formula 2 round was a motor racing event held between 16 and 19 May 2024 at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari. It was the fourth round of the 2024 FIA Formula 2 Championship and was held in support of the 2024 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. Classification Qualifying Qualifying was held on 17 May 2024, at 16:00 local time ( UTC+2). Notes * – Joshua Dürksen received a 3-place grid penalty for the Sprint Race for causing a collision in the previous round. * – Zak O'Sullivan received a 5-place grid penalty for the Sprint Race for causing a collision in the previous round. Autodromo Internazionale Enzo E Dino Ferrari
The Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, better known as Imola, is a motor racing circuit in the town of Imola, in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, east of Bologna. It is one of the few major international circuits to run in an anti-clockwise direction. The circuit is named after Ferrari's late founder, Enzo Ferrari (1898–1988), and his son, Alfredo "Dino" Ferrari (1932–1956). Before Enzo's death, it was called Autodromo Dino Ferrari. The circuit has an FIA Grade One licence. Imola was the venue for the San Marino Grand Prix between 1981 and 2006. During this period, two Grands Prix were held in Italy every year, with the Italian Grand Prix taking place at Monza, so the Imola race was named after the nearby state. Imola also hosted the 1980 Italian Grand Prix in place of Monza. 2024 Formula 2 Championship
The 2024 FIA Formula 2 Championship is a planned motor racing championship for Formula 2 cars that is sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The championship will be the fifty-eighth season of Formula 2 racing and the eighth season run under the FIA Formula 2 Championship moniker. It is an open-wheel racing category that serves as the second tier of formula racing in the FIA Global Pathway. The category will be run in support of selected rounds of the 2024 Formula One World Championship. As the championship is a spec series, all teams and drivers that compete in the championship will run the same car. 2024 will see the debut of a new chassis and engine package. Josep Maria "Pepe" Martí Sobrepera (born 13 June 2005) is a Spanish racing driver who most recently raced in the FIA Formula 3 for Campos Racing. He is a race winner in the UAE and Spanish Formula 4 championships, and also the 2022 Formula Regional Asian Championship runner-up. Dennis Hauger (; born 17 March 2003) is a Norwegian racing driver set to compete in the 2023 FIA Formula 2 Championship with MP Motorsport. He is a member of the Red Bull Junior Team and the 2021 FIA Formula 3 champion. He also won the 2019 Italian F4 Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing. Taylor Barnard (born 1 June 2004) is a British racing driver who is currently racing for Jenzer Motorsport in FIA Formula 3. He is the reigning ADAC Formula 4 runner-up, as well as a protégé of Formula One World Champion Nico Rosberg.
