2024 Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2024 Big 12 Women's Basketball Tournament is a postseason women's basketball tournament for the Big 12 Conference. It was played from March 7-12, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri at T-Mobile Center. The winner will receive the conference's automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Due to a major conference realignment that significantly impacted the Big 12, this will be the first and only tournament with 14 teams participating. At the beginning of the 2023–24 season, BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF joined the conference. This will be the final appearance in the tournament for Texas and Oklahoma before they join the Southeastern Conference for the 2024–25 season. The conference will increase to have 16 schools in that season, as Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah will join the Big 12, respectively from the Pac-12 Conference. T-Mobile Center (formerly Sprint Center) is a multi-purpose arena in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. The Oklahoma Sooners women's basketball team represents the University of Oklahoma (OU) and competes in the Big 12 Conference of NCAA Division I. History OU women's basketball began during the 1974–75 academic year. In March 1990, Oklahoma officials released a statement saying that the women's basketball program was to be dropped, after many years of sub-par performance and low attendance. Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Tournament
The Big 12 Conference women's basketball tournament is the championship women's basketball tournament in the Big 12 Conference. It is a single-elimination tournament of four rounds, with the top four seeds getting byes in the first round until 2011. Beginning in 2012 the bottom four teams play First Round games to advance to the Quarterfinals against the top six teams. Seeding is based on regular season records.
