2024 Berlin EPrix
The 2024 Berlin ePrix, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2024 SUN MINIMEAL Berlin E-Prix, was a pair of Formula E electric car races held at the Tempelhof Airport Street Circuit at Tempelhof Airport in the outskirts of Berlin, Germany on 11 and 12 May 2024. It served as the ninth and tenth rounds of the 2023–24 Formula E season, and marked the tenth edition of the Berlin ePrix, the only event to have featured in every season of the Formula E championship. The first race was won by Nick Cassidy for Jaguar TCS Racing, with Jean-Éric Vergne and Oliver Rowland in second and third place respectively. The second race was won by António Félix da Costa for the Porsche Formula E Team, with Nick Cassidy and Oliver Rowland completing the podium. Formula E, officially the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, is a single-seater motorsport championship for electric cars. The series was conceived in 2011 in Paris by FIA president Jean Todt and Spanish businessman Alejandro Agag, who is also the current chairman of Formula E Holdings. Hendrik Johannes Nicasius "Nyck" de Vries (; born 6 February 1995) is a Dutch racing driver who is currently serving as the reserve driver for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team. He is confirmed to be driving full-time in Formula 1 at Scuderia AlphaTauri in . Paul Aron
Paul Aron (born 4 February 2004) is an Estonian racing driver currently set to race in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Prema Racing. He previously competed in the Formula Regional European Championship for Prema in 2021 and 2022, in which he ended both series in third. Aron is part of the Mercedes Junior Team. He also won the rookie cup in the 2019 Italian F4 Championship and placed third in the regular standings. Career Karting Starting in Estonia at the age of 8, Aron climbed the karting ladder as he was soon racing all over Europe but mostly in Italy. Joel Eriksson (racing Driver)
Joel Eriksson (born 28 June 1998) is a Swedish racing driver who last competed in the 2021 ADAC GT Masters with KÜS Team Bernhard. Career Karting Eriksson began his karting career in 2007. He remained in karting until 2014. Formula 4 In 2014, Eriksson made his debut in open-wheel racing in the ADAC Formel Masters. The Envision Racing Formula E Team is a British motor racing team based at Silverstone Park and majority-owned by Chinese wind turbine manufacturer Envision Energy that competes in Formula E. The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (formerly the 1000 Kilometres of Spa-Francorchamps) is an endurance race for sports cars held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. History The Spa 24 Hours had been introduced in 1924, and other races followed. As on the Nürburgring, both a 24-hour race for touring cars and GTs is held, and an endurance race for sports cars and GTs. The 24 hour race counted towards the inaugural World Sports Car championship in 1953, the last time that race would be held until 1964, and the last time it was for sports cars for several decades. 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship
The 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship is the twelfth season of the FIA World Endurance Championship, an auto racing series organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The series will be open to Hypercars (built under Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) or Le Mans Daytona h (LMDh) regulations) and LMGT3 racing cars. This is the first season of the World Endurance Championship without the LMP2 class, after it was dropped due to the increasing demand in the Hypercar and LMGT3 classes, and a maximum amount of 37 cars on the full-season grid. The LMP2 class will still take part at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Manufacturers entering in the LMGT3 category will only be allowed to enter a maximum of two cars, to allow for a greater diversity in the LMGT3 category. Mitchell William Evans (born 24 June 1994) is a New Zealand professional racing driver. He currently drives for the Jaguar TCS Racing team in Formula E. In 2012, he won the GP3 Series and he raced in the GP2 Series for four years, achieving 14th place in 2013, fourth in 2014, fifth in 2015, and 12th in 2016. Pascal Wehrlein
Pascal Wehrlein (born 18 October 1994) is a German-Mauritian racing driver for the Porsche Formula E Team. He previously raced in Formula One for the Sauber and Manor teams. Holding dual nationality of Germany and Mauritius, he raced under the German flag in Formula One. He had previously raced in DTM, winning the title with the Mercedes-Benz team HWA AG in 2015. In 2014 Wehrlein became the youngest driver to win a DTM race at the age of 19, and the following year he was the youngest to win the title, at the age of 20. Berlin EPrix
The Berlin ePrix is an annual race of the single-seater, electrically powered Formula E championship, held in Berlin, Germany. It was first raced in the 2014–15 season. Circuits Tempelhof Airport The 2015 Berlin ePrix took place at a temporary circuit at Tempelhof Airport, that was 2.469 km long with 17 turns. But because Tempelhof Airport was used for housing refugees in 2016, the second edition could not take place there. The race returned to Tempelhof Airport in 2017 with an updated layout that features 10 turns and 2.250 km long. It is the only circuit on the calendar to feature old concrete that offers low grip and high tyre wear, as used in the airport, long turns, an indoor tunnel and a wide circuit. 2023–24 Formula E World Championship
The 2023–24 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship was the tenth season of the FIA Formula E championship, a motor racing championship for electrically powered vehicles recognized by motorsport's governing body, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), as the highest class of competition for electric open-wheel racing cars. Although the championship season is designated as 2023–2024, all races were held in 2024.
