2024 6 Hours Of São Paulo
The 2024 6 Hours of São Paulo (formally known as the 2024 Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo) was an endurance sportscar racing event held on 14 July 2024, as the fifth of eight rounds of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship. It was the fourth running of the event as part of the World Endurance Championship, and the first running of the event since 2014. Background The event was announced on 9 June 2023, during the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans weekend. Interlagos Circuit signed a contract to host the event until at least 2028, made possible via an agreement with the São Paulo City Hall. Entry list The entry list was revealed on 26 June 2024, with 37 entries: 19 in Hypercar and 18 in LMGT3. Clemens Schmid was set to replace Timur Boguslavskiy in the No. 78 Akkodis ASP Team Lexus. However, the car had to withdraw from the event after a heavy crash from Arnold Robin in the first free practice session. Matarazzo Building (Portuguese: Edifício Matarazzo), also known as Palácio do Anhangabaú (Anhangabaú Palace) is the city hall of the city of São Paulo, Brazil. André Lotterer
André Lotterer (born 19 November 1981) is a German professional racing driver currently racing for Avalanche Andretti Formula E in the FIA Formula E Championship. He is best known for his success in endurance racing with the works Audi team, including three victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the drivers' title of the FIA World Endurance Championship. Earl Anderson Bamber (born 9 July 1990) is a professional racing driver from New Zealand, currently competing as a factory driver for Porsche Motorsport in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTLM class. José María "Pechito" López (born 26 April 1983) is an Argentine race car driver who is currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship with Toyota Gazoo Racing and 2014–2016 World Touring Car Champion. He raced in the 2006 GP2 Series for the Super Nova team, and previously for the DAMS team, and the CMS team in Formula 3000. He was also at Renault F1 as a test driver. Proton Competition (also known as Team Felbermayr-Proton) is a German auto racing team founded by Gerold Ried. The team is based in Ummendorf, Baden-Württemberg.
