2023–24 UNC Asheville Bulldogs Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 UNC Asheville Bulldogs men's basketball team represented the University of North Carolina at Asheville during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bulldogs, led by sixth-year head coach Mike Morrell, played their home games at Kimmel Arena in Asheville, North Carolina, as members of the Big South Conference. Previous season The Bulldogs finished the 2022–23 season 27–8, 16–2 in Big South play to finish as Big South regular season champions. They defeated Charleston Southern, USC Upstate, and Campbell to win the Big South tournament and earned the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA tournament. Mike Morrell (basketball)
Mike Morrell (born August 22, 1982) is an American college basketball coach, and current head coach of the UNC Asheville Bulldogs men's basketball team. Playing career Morrell was a two-sport athlete at Milligan College playing both basketball and golf. He was a three-year starter and 1,000-point scorer in men's basketball and two-time all-league selection in golf. Morrell is still listed in the Milligan College men's basketball record books. As a freshman in 2000-01, he led the basketball team in free throw percentage (80.9%). Crisler Center (formerly known as the University Events Building and Crisler Arena) is an indoor arena located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is the home arena for the University of Michigan's men's and women's basketball teams as well as its women's gymnastics team. Constructed in 1967, the arena seats 12,707 spectators.
