The 2023–24 Sydney Kings season is the 35th season of the franchise in the National Basketball League (NBL). On 16 May 2023, head coach Chase Buford parted ways with the Kings. On 21 June 2023, the Kings hired Mahmoud Abdelfattah on a two-year deal as head coach. Wollongong Entertainment Centre
Wollongong Entertainment Centre (also known by its naming rights sponsor WIN Entertainment Centre and colloquially as the WEC) is a multi-purpose indoor arena, located in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia. The WEC opened on 5 September 1998 with a concert by Bob Dylan and Patti Smith; 4,935 people attended the event. Dylan performed at the venue again in 2011, performing to a crowd of 3,214 people, and again in 2018. The arena is 3 minutes walk from the city centre and has hosted a variety of events including Federation Cup tennis, world championship boxing and international musical acts. Every year the WIN Entertainment Centre holds the Wakakirri Story Dance Wollongong heat, Southern Stars and also a variety of concerts and expos. The building was designed by the New South Wales Government Architect. 2023–24 Illawarra Hawks Season
The 2023–24 Illawarra Hawks season was the 46th season of the franchise in the National Basketball League (NBL). On 13 May 2023, the Hawks have picked up Jacob Jackomas’s second year team option. On 14 November 2023, Jacob Jackomas was released as Hawks' head coach after the team started the season with a 2–7 record and was replaced by Justin Tatum on an interim basis. On 22 February 2024, prior to the Hawks' playoff campaign, Tatum signed a three-year deal with Illawarra to continue as permanent head coach. Sam Timmins
Samuel Timmins (born 23 May 1997) is a New Zealand professional basketball player for the New Zealand Breakers of the National Basketball League (NBL). He played college basketball for the Washington Huskies. In 2022, he helped the Otago Nuggets win the New Zealand NBL championship. Early life and career Born in Dunedin, Otago, Timmins moved to Southland as a youth and lived there while his father played for the Southland Stags rugby union team. Jonah Anthony Bolden (born 2 January 1996) is an Australian-American former professional basketball player. He started his professional career with FMP in Serbia, where he was named the ABA League Top Prospect in 2017. He played a season-and-a-half with the Philadelphia 76ers before joining the Phoenix Suns. Bolden is the son of an American former pro basketball player Bruce Bolden, and moved to the United States as a senior in high school.
