Sparta Rotterdam
Sparta Rotterdam () is a Dutch professional football club based in Rotterdam. Established on 1 April 1888, Sparta Rotterdam is the oldest professional football team in the Netherlands. Sparta currently compete in the Eredivisie, the top flight of Dutch professional football, which they have won 6 times, having earned promotion from the Eerste Divisie in 2018–19. The club is one of three professional football clubs from Rotterdam, the others being Excelsior (est. 1902) and Feyenoord (est. 1908). History On 1 April 1888, several students from Rotterdam founded a cricket club called Rotterdamsche Cricket & Football Club Sparta. In July 1888, a football branch of the club was established. In 1890, Sparta played its first real football match, and in 1892 Sparta disbanded the cricket branch. Sparta was promoted to the highest league of Dutch football on 23 April 1893. Koki Saito
is a Japanese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Eredivisie club Sparta Rotterdam, on loan from Belgian club Lommel. Club career After impressive performances with the Japan U-17 team, Koki Saito debuted on 21 July 2018 in a league match against FC Gifu. On his debut, Saito even had the chance to share the field with Kazuyoshi Miura, who is 34 years his senior. In January 2021, he joined Belgian First Division B side Lommel. In summer 2022 he was loaned to Eredivisie side Sparta. The loan was extended for the 2023–24 season. Pelle Clement
Pelle Clement (born 19 May 1996) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for club Sparta Rotterdam. Club career Clement is a youth exponent from Ajax, whom he joined in 2006 from his youth club Koninklijke HFC. He made his professional debut at Jong Ajax on 8 May 2015 in an Eerste Divisie game against VVV Venlo. He played the full game. His first Eredivisie match was a November 2016 match against NEC. On 28 June 2017, Clement moved to Reading from Ajax for an undisclosed fee, signing a three-year contract with the EFL Championship club. On 3 January 2019, Jaap Stam signed Clement for the second time for PEC Zwolle after only featuring for Reading once in the 2018–19 season. Django Warmerdam (born 2 September 1995) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a left back for club Sparta Rotterdam. Club career Warmerdam is a youth exponent from AFC Ajax. He made his professional debut at 24 November 2014 against NEC Nijmegen replacing Robert van Koesveld after 81 minutes in a 1–1 draw. In 2017 he transferred to FC Groningen after a season long loan spell with PEC Zwolle. Djevencio Djovairo van der Kust (born 30 April 2001) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for club Sparta Rotterdam. Born in the Netherlands, he plays for the Suriname national team. Club career Utrecht After playing youth football for AVV Zeeburgia, Van der Kust joined FC Utrecht's academy in 2012. He signed his first professional contract with Utrecht in December 2019, with the deal valid until mid-2022 with the option of a year's extension. Saïd Riad Bakari (born 22 September 1994) is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for club Sparta Rotterdam. Born in France, he plays for the Comoros national team. Born in La Courneuve, Bakari played youth football for FC Bourget, Paris Saint-Germain, Red Star and Chantilly before starting his senior career at Belgian third tier club Turnhout in 2013. Delano van Crooij (born 5 June 1991) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Eredivisie club Sparta Rotterdam. Club career Born in Venlo, Van Crooij played in the VVV-Venlo youth system and joined FC Zwolle in 2011 as their third goalkeeper. Pedro Alemañ Serna (born 21 March 2002) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Valencia Mestalla. Career Alemañ is a youth product of the Spanish clubs Celtic Elche, Elche and Valencia. Jeremy van Mullem (born 18 March 1999) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for club Cambuur. Career Early years Van Mullem began his youth career at VV Zwaluwen and later moved to Feyenoord's academy, where he signed his first professional contract in 2018. After one season with Jong Feyenoord, his contract expired in 2019, and he left on a free transfer to SSV Jeddeloh in Germany, competing in Regionalliga Nord.
