2023–24 Santa Clara Broncos Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Santa Clara Broncos men's basketball team represented Santa Clara University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Broncos, led by eighth-year head coach Herb Sendek, played their home games at the Leavey Center as members of the West Coast Conference. They finished the season 20–13, 10–6 in WCC play to finish in fourth place. As the No. 4 seed in the WCC Tournament, they defeated San Diego in the quarterfinals, before losing to Saint Mary's in the semifinals. Previous season The Broncos finished the 2022–23 season 23–10, 11–5 in WCC play to finish in third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the WCC tournament to San Francisco. Herb Sendek
Herbert Joseph Sendek Jr. (born February 22, 1963) is an American college basketball coach who is the current men's basketball head coach at Santa Clara. Early life Herbert Joseph Sendek, Jr. of Slovak descent, grew up in Pittsburgh and attended Penn Hills High School. He starred as a point guard in basketball, lettering two years, serving as team captain, and earning All-East Suburban honors. He graduated with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average and was valedictorian of the Class of 1981. Sendek's father, Herb Sr., was a teacher and basketball coach at both the high school and junior college levels. College career He played college basketball at Carnegie Mellon University, where he was a three-year letterman. Kansas Jayhawks Men's Basketball
The Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball program is the intercollegiate men's basketball program of the University of Kansas. The program is classified in the NCAA's Division I and the team competes in the Big 12 Conference. Kansas is considered one of the most prestigious college basketball programs in the country with six overall national championships (4 NCAA Tournament championships and 2 Helms national championships), as well being runner-up six times and having the most conference titles in the nation. The Golden State Warriors are an American professional basketball team based in San Francisco. Muskego () is a city in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 24,135. Muskego is the fifth largest community in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. Brandin "Podz" Podziemski ( ; born February 25, 2003) is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Illinois Fighting Illini before transferring to the Santa Clara Broncos. Early life and high school Podziemski grew up in Greenfield, Wisconsin and attended St. John's Northwestern Military Academy. He was named first team All-State after averaging 22.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game as a sophomore with St. John's Northwestern Military Academy after not playing on the varsity team as a freshman at Muskego High School.
