2023–24 Santa Clara Broncos Men's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Santa Clara Broncos men's basketball team represented Santa Clara University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Broncos, led by eighth-year head coach Herb Sendek, played their home games at the Leavey Center as members of the West Coast Conference. They finished the season 20–13, 10–6 in WCC play to finish in fourth place. As the No. 4 seed in the WCC Tournament, they defeated San Diego in the quarterfinals, before losing to Saint Mary's in the semifinals. Previous season The Broncos finished the 2022–23 season 23–10, 11–5 in WCC play to finish in third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the WCC tournament to San Francisco. Herb Sendek
Herbert Joseph Sendek Jr. (born February 22, 1963) is an American college basketball coach who is the current men's basketball head coach at Santa Clara. Early life Herbert Joseph Sendek Jr. grew up in Pittsburgh and attended Penn Hills High School. He starred as a point guard in basketball, lettering two years, serving as team captain, and earning All-East Suburban honors. He graduated with a perfect 4.0 grade-point average and was valedictorian of the Class of 1981. Sendek's father, Herb Sr., was a teacher and basketball coach at both the high school and junior college levels. Sendek is of Slovak descent. The Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball program is the college basketball, intercollegiate men's basketball program of the University of Kansas. The Golden State Warriors are an American professional basketball team based in San Francisco. The 2023 NBA draft, the 77th edition of the National Basketball Association's annual NBA draft, draft, was held on June 22, 2023, at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Muskego () is a city in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city had a population of 25,032. It is part of the Milwaukee metropolitan area. The name Muskego is derived from the Potawatomi Indian name for the area, "Mus-kee-Guaac", meaning sunfish. The Potawatomi were the original inhabitants of Muskego. Brandin Thomas Podziemski ( ; born February 25, 2003) is an American professional basketball player for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Nicknamed "Podz", he played college basketball for the Illinois Fighting Illini and the Santa Clara Broncos.
