2023–24 PBA Commissioner's Cup
The 2023–24 PBA Commissioner's Cup, also known as the 2023–24 Honda PBA Commissioner's Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the first conference of the 2023–24 PBA season of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The 21st edition of the Commissioner's Cup started on November 5, 2023, and ended on February 14, 2024. The tournament allowed teams to hire foreign players or imports with a height limit of . The opening was originally scheduled on October 15, but was moved three weeks past the original date to give players that participated in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2022 Asian Games time to rest. Guest team and previous Commissioner's Cup runner-up Bay Area Dragons were supposed to compete during the conference, but the team was disbanded by their owners, the East Asia Super League, prior to the start of the conference. RPTV (TV Channel)
RPTV is a Philippine free-to-air television network jointly owned and operated by TV5 Network, Inc. and Nine Media Corporation, together with Radio Philippines Network (RPN) as its free-to-air broadcaster. RPTV is formed under a content distribution, sales and marketing agreement between TV5, with its parent MediaQuest Holdings, and Nine Media, with the former providing programming and other related services to the latter through its existing airtime lease agreement with RPN. East Asia Super League
The East Asia Super League (Simplified Chinese:东亚超级联赛; Traditional Chinese: 東亞超級聯賽; Korean: 동아시아 슈퍼리그; Japanese: 東アジアスーパーリーグ), abbreviated as EASL, is a basketball league featuring clubs in Greater China, Japan, South Korea and the Philippines. From 2017 to 2019, four pre-season tournaments (The Super 8 and later The Terrific 12) were organized by EASL, featuring clubs from select professional basketball leagues in the region. Manila Clasico refers to the rivalry between the two most popular professional basketball teams in the Philippines today, the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Magnolia Hotshots, both owned by San Miguel Corporation.
