2023–24 Illinois Fighting Illini Women's Basketball Team
The 2023–24 Illinois Fighting Illini women's basketball team represented the University of Illinois during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Fighting Illini were led by second-year head coach Shauna Green, and they played their home games at State Farm Center. This season marked the program's 42nd season as a member of the Big Ten Conference. Previous season The Illini finished the 2022–23 season 22–10 overall, with a 11–7 record in Big Ten play to finish in sixth place. As the sixth seed in the Big Ten women's tournament, they defeated eleventh seed Rutgers in the first round before losing to third seed Maryland in the second round. Shauna Green (born October 31, 1979) is an American basketball coach. Career She coaches the Illinois Fighting Illini women's basketball team at the University of Illinois. She was hired in March 2022. In her first season at Dayton, Green won the WBCA Maggie Dixon Rookie Coach of the Year after "leading the team to a 22–10 record, 13–3 A-10 mark, and a berth in the NCAA Division I Tournament". Ryan Gensler
Ryan Gensler is an American women's basketball coach. He is currently the women's basketball head coach at the University of Akron. Early life and education Gensler is a native of Syracuse, New York. He attended high school at Christian Brothers Academy where he played basketball. He received a bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in business from Saint Joseph's University in 2009. He earned a master's degree in education from Providence College while working as a graduate assistant and director of basketball operations for the women's basketball team. The Duke Blue Devils women's basketball team is the college basketball program representing Duke University in the Atlantic Coast Conference of NCAA Division I. Team history In 1974, Duke hired Emma Jean Howard to teach physical education, and to serve as the head coach of the women's basketball and volleyball teams.
