2023–24 FA Cup
The 2023–24 FA Cup is the 143rd season of the Football Association Challenge Cup, the oldest football tournament in the world. It is sponsored by Emirates and known as the Emirates FA Cup for sponsorship purposes. Premier League team Manchester City are the defending champions, having defeated rivals Manchester United in the previous season's final for their seventh title. The winners of the cup will qualify for the 2024–25 UEFA Europa League league stage, as well as earn the right to play against the winners of the 2023–24 Premier League in the 2024 FA Community Shield. Teams The FA Cup is a knockout competition with 124 teams taking part from the first round proper while all trying to reach the final at Wembley Stadium on 25 May 2024. Wembley Stadium
Wembley Stadium (branded as Wembley Stadium connected by EE for sponsorship reasons) is a football stadium in Wembley, London. It opened in 2007 on the site of the Wembley Stadium (1923), original Wembley Stadium, which was demolished from 2002 to 2003. The stadium hosts major football matches including home matches of the England national football team, and the FA Cup Final. EFL League Two
The English Football League Two (often referred to as League Two for short or Sky Bet League Two for sponsorship purposes, and known as the Football League Two from 2004 until 2016) is the third and lowest division of the English Football League (EFL) and fourth-highest division overall in the English football league system. Football League Two was introduced for the 2004–05 season. It was previously known as the Football League Third Division. Before the advent of the Premier League in 1992, the fourth-highest division was known as the Football League Fourth Division. As of the 2022–23 season, Mansfield Town and Newport County hold the longest tenure in League Two, having promoted to the division in the 2012–13 season. Tom Knowles
Thomas Andrew Knowles (born 27 September 1998) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder and forward for League Two club Walsall. Having started his career at his hometown club Cambridge United, he has previously played on loan at St Neots Town, Cambridge City, St Ives Town, Hemel Hempstead Town and Kettering Town. Most recently, he spent two years with Yeovil Town before his move to Walsall. Career Cambridge United Knowles graduated through the Cambridge United Shadow Scholars Academy to win a place in the club's youth-team in 2016. He was a part of the under-18 team that reached the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup in the 2016–17 season. Douglas James-Taylor
Douglas Edward James-Taylor (born 18 November 2001) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Walsall. Club career James-Taylor grew up in Altrincham where he attended Altrincham Grammar School for Boys. He began his football career with Salford City and was a prolific goalscorer for their under-18s which saw him make his senior debut in a FA Trophy game at Maidstone United. He joined the Stoke City U23s in September 2020. He gained first team experience in the second half of the 2021–22 season playing four times for Wealdstone and ten times for AFC Fylde. On 1 July 2022, James-Taylor joined Walsall on loan for the 2022–23 season. He made his Football League debut on 30 July 2022 in a 4–0 victory against Hartlepool United. Walsall F
Walsall (, or ; locally ) is a market town and administrative centre in the West Midlands County, England. Historically part of Staffordshire, it is located north-west of Birmingham, east of Wolverhampton and from Lichfield. Walsall is the administrative centre of the wider Metropolitan Borough of Walsall. It was transferred from Staffordshire to the newly created West Midlands County in 1974.
