Ultimate Marvel, later known as Ultimate Comics, was an imprint of comic books published by Marvel Comics, featuring re-imagined and modernized versions of the company's superhero characters from the Ultimate Marvel Universe. Those characters include Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Ultimates (the Ultimate Marvel Universe counterpart of the Avengers), the Fantastic Four, and others. The imprint was launched in 2000 with the publication of the series ''Ultimate Spider-Man'' and ''Ultimate X-Men'' in 2001, followed by ''The Ultimates'' and ''Ultimate Fantastic Four'' in 2002 and 2004 respectively providing new origin stories for the characters. Lee Garbett is a British comic book artist born in the West Midlands. He has worked on British comics. As of February 2011, he is working freelance after a period of exclusivity with DC Comics. Career He created the 4-issue mini-series ''Dark Mists'' with Annika Eade, which follows a group of Geisha blackmailed into becoming assassins. After AP Comics folded the title was picked up and reprinted by Markosia. Lee left the series after issue No. 3 and moved to '' 2000 AD'', most notably on the series ''London Falling'', co-created with Simon Spurrier. He also worked on a ''Judge Dredd'' strip for the Judge Dredd Megazine. He then moved to US publisher, DC Comics and their Wildstorm imprint. Becky Cloonan (born 23 June) is an American comic book creator, known for work published by Tokyopop and Vertigo. Locals Technology Inc., also referred to as locals.com, is a creator crowdfunding site cofounded by Dave Rubin and Assaf Lev. It started in 2019 and is based in Miami. The site was founded after Rubin and Jordan Peterson left Patreon in response to its banning of Carl Benjamin for paraphrasing hate speech. The startup raised just over $1 million from 10 506(b) private placement investors in March 2020. Locals announced further funding of $3.8 million on April 20, 2021 led by Craft Ventures. The site deviates from the advertising and views model adopted by traditional social media, in favor of a paywall approach that provides several benefits for both creators and consumers according to interviews.
