800 Metres
The 800 metres, or meters ( US spelling), is a common track running event. It is the shortest commonly run middle-distance running event. The 800 metres is run over two laps of an outdoor (400-metre) track and has been an Olympic event since the first modern games in 1896. During the winter track season the event is usually run by completing four laps of an indoor 200-metre track. The event was derived from the imperial measurement of a half mile (880 yards), a traditional English racing distance. 800m is 4.67m less than a half mile. The event combines aerobic endurance with anaerobic conditioning and sprint speed, so the 800m athlete has to combine training for both. Runners in this event are occasionally fast enough to also compete in the 400 metres but more commonly have enough endurance to 'double up' in the 1500m. Prawat Wahoram
Prawat Wahoram (; born 24 March 1981) is a Paralympian athlete from Thailand competing in category T54 wheelchair racing events. He competed for Thailand in six Paralympic Games from 2000 to 2020 and got the total of seven gold, eight silver, and one bronze medals. He is considered the most successful Thai Paralympic athlete. Career Competing in wheelchair athletics, Wahoram has represented Thailand at the Paralympic Games on six occasions. He won his first medals, two gold, at the 2000 Summer Paralympics in Sydney, winning the 5000 m and 10000 m races in the T54 category. Wahoram competed in the 2004 Summer Paralympics at various distances, the 800 m, 1500 m, 5000 m and 10000 m race. He won multiple medals at both the 2018 World Para Athletics European Championships, 2018 and 2021 World Para Athletics European Championships, and also won the 400 metres mixed class race at multiple British Athletics Championships. Nicolas Brignone
Nicolas Brignone (born 14 May 1989) is a para-sport athlete from France competing mainly in category T53 sprint events. In 2015 he won the bronze medal at the IPC Athletics World Championships in Doha as part of the men's 400 m relay team. Personal history Brignone was born in Nouméa, New Caledonia in 1989 to Vincent Brignone. Brignone was involved in a motorbike accident which left him with permanent spinal injuries. Professional career Brignone took up para-athletics in 2011 and made his senior international debut in 2013 when he was selected for the French national team at the IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon. The following year he won his first major international medals at the 2014 IPC Athletics European Championships in Swansea. There he won a silver in the men's 400 m and a bronze in the 100 m sprint. Sopa Intasen is a paralympic athlete from Thailand competing mainly in category T53 sprint events. Biography Sopa has competed in four Paralympics winning four medals. Pierre Fairbank (born 27 July 1971) is a Paralympian athlete from France and New Caledonia competing mainly in category T53 sprint events. Fairbank first competed in the Paralympics in 2000 in Sydney where he won a gold in the T53 200m, a silver in the T53 400m and a bronze in the T53 800m, he also competed in the T54 Marathon.
