2023 Women's Twenty20 East Asia Cup
The 2023 Women's East Asia Cup was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament that took place in Hangzhou, China, in May 2023. This was the fifth edition of the women's East Asia Cup, and saw China, Hong Kong and Japan play in a double round-robin, with the top two sides advancing to the final. South Korea were unable to compete for the second edition in a row, after they and China had also missed the 2022 tournament. Kary Chan (; born 13 March 1997) is a Hong Kong cricketer and the captain of the Hong Kong women's national cricket team. Chan made her Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut on 12 January 2019, for Hong Kong against Indonesia in the 2019 Thailand Women's T20 Smash. The Zhejiang University of Technology (Pingfeng Campus) Cricket Field (), also known as the Pingfeng Campus Cricket Ground (), is a cricket field located on the Pingfeng Campus of Zhejiang University of Technology, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. Overview It is the largest cricket field in China in terms of construction area, and is the only cricket field in Zhejiang Province that meets international competition standards. The cricket field was built in 2020 in preparation for the 2022 Asian Games, which were held in Hangzhou. It has a capacity of 1,347 spectators, and features a 26.5m x 12.5m rectangular pitch in the center of the field. Wing Ki Lai or Emma Lai (born March 14, 1988) is a Hong Kong cricketer who plays for Hong Kong women's national cricket team. She started learning to play cricket while working as a waitress at the Hong Kong Cricket Club. Just over a year after her first cricket lesson, she travelled to Kuwait as part of the Hong Kong squad, and a year later, she played in her first game for Hong Kong against Thailand. The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises.
