2023 Women's Hockey One
The 2023 Women's JDH Hockey One was the third season of Hockey Australia's national league, ''Hockey One''. The tournament was held across 7 states and territories of Australia. Competition commenced on 6 October, and culminated with a finals weekend on 25 and 26 November. Competition format Format The 2023 Hockey One season followed the same format as seasons one and two. Teams will play a series of home and away matches during the Pool Stage, which will be followed by a Classification Round. During the pool stage, teams played each other once in either a home or a way fixture. The top four ranked teams qualified for the classification round, playing in two semi-finals with the winners contesting the final and losers the third place match. Unlike season one, where Team 1 hosted Team 4 and Team 2 hosted Team 3, the finals were held over a single weekend at a central location. Jamie Dwyer
Jamie Dwyer (born 12 March 1979) is an Australian field hockey player. He currently plays for YMCC Coastal City Hockey Club in the Melville Toyota League in Perth, Western Australia. He also played for the Queensland Blades in the Australian Hockey League. He debuted for Australia as a junior player in 1995, and for the senior side in 2001. He has played over 350 matches for Australia and scored over 220 goals. He has represented Australia at the 2004 Summer Olympics where he won a gold medal and the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics where Australia won bronze medals. He has also represented Australia at the 2006 Commonwealth Games where he won a gold medal and the 2010 Commonwealth Games where he also won gold. He has won silver medals at the 2002 Men's Hockey World Cup and the 2006 Men's Hockey World Cup. He won a gold medal at the 2010 Men's Hockey World Cup.
