The 2023 Vuelta a Murcia was the 43rd edition of the Vuelta a Murcia road cycling race. It was held on 11 February 2023 in the titular region of southeastern Spain as a category 1.1 event on the 2023 UCI Europe Tour calendar. 2023 UCI Europe Tour
The 2023 UCI Europe Tour was the nineteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points were awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. Gorka Izagirre
Gorka Izagirre Insausti (born 7 October 1987) is a Spanish professional cyclist, who rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is the brother of fellow racing cyclist Ion Izagirre. Career Both Izagirre brothers were signed by the for the 2014 season, with Ion leaving for at the beginning of 2017. Movistar Team (2014–17) Izagirre won the Prueba Villafranca de Ordizia for the third time in his career in 2014. His first top 10 in a World Tour stage race came in 2015, when he placed 9th in Paris–Nice. Tim Wellens (born 10 May 1991) is a Belgian professional road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He is the son of former racing cyclist Leo Wellens and the nephew of cyclists Paul and Johan Wellens. Matteo Trentin (born 2 August 1989) is an Italian professional road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Professional career In 2014, Trentin took a prestigious victory on Stage 7 of the Tour de France, where he won the sprint by a few centimeters over Peter Sagan. Trentin had also won a stage of the same race on his maiden Tour start in 2013, winning in a sprint in Lyon against his breakaway counterparts. Valentin Madouas (born 12 July 1996) is a French cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career Described as a puncheur, Madouas has seen success in one-day classic races as well as having strong climbing abilities. In May 2019, he was named in the startlist for the 2019 Giro d'Italia, which was his first Grand Tour. Simon Clarke (born 18 July 1986) is an Australian professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . He previously rode for the (2011) and (2012–2015) teams in the UCI World Tour. Before turning professional, Clarke competed in track cycling as an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship holder. He is not related to fellow Australian cyclist and past teammate Will Clarke.
