The 2023 Vuelta a Castilla y León (English: ''2023 Tour of Castile and León'') is a road cycling stage race that took place between 26 and 27 July 2023 in the Spanish autonomous community of Castile and León. The race was rated as a category 2.1 event on the 2023 UCI Europe Tour calendar, and is the 37th edition of the Vuelta a Castilla y León. Teams 6 of the 18 UCI WorldTeams, ten UCI ProTeams and three UCI Continental teams made up the 19 teams that participated in the race. 2023 UCI Europe Tour
The 2023 UCI Europe Tour was the nineteenth season of the UCI Europe Tour. Throughout the season, points were awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determined how many points were awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points were awarded. Welay Berhe
Welay Hagos Berhe (born 22 October 2001) is an Ethiopian racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Career After leaving in August 2021 he rejoined the team for the 2022 season. Berhe spent Stages 2 and 3 of the Istrian Spring Trophy in the break-away. In Stage 2 he won the six mountain points on the final climb of the day, then on stage 3 while in the break he won the first mountain sprint and secured himself the Mountain jersey. At the Tour de l'Avenir Berhe crashed during the sprint for Stage 6 after a Norwegian rider fell in front of him. Berhe continued the race with minor injuries. Berhe signed a three-year deal to ride for UCI WorldTeam from 2023. Coca is a municipality in the province of Segovia, central Spain, part of the autonomous community of Castile and Leon.
