The 2023 Tre Valli Varesine was the 102nd edition of the Tre Valli Varesine road cycling one day race, which was held in the Lombardy region of northwestern Italy on 3 October 2023. The race was the third of the 2023 Trittico Lombardo, which also included the Coppa Ugo Agostoni, held on 28 September and the Coppa Bernocchi held the day before. Ben O'Connor (cyclist)
Ben Alexander O'Connor (born 25 November 1995) is an Australian road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam . Cycling career In May 2018, he was named in the startlist for the 2018 Giro d'Italia. He was in 12th place on the general classification at the start of stage 19 but crashed during the stage breaking his collarbone. He then withdrew from the race. In 2019 he completed two Grand Tours, the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España. O'Connor started the 2020 Giro d'Italia. He achieved his first Grand Tour stage win on stage 17 after finishing second on stage 16 the day before. In October 2020, O'Connor signed a contract to join the for the 2021 season. O'Connor won stage nine of the 2021 Tour de France after getting in the breakaway and then riding solo for the last seventeen kilometres of the mountain stage. Michael Russell Woods (born 12 October 1986) is a Canadian racing cyclist, who rides for UCI WorldTeam and is the first person to break four minutes in the mile and complete the Tour de France. Career Athletics career Woods' first sport was ice hockey and his childhood ambition was to play as a left wing for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Prior to becoming a cyclist, Woods was a promising middle-distance runner, setting Canadian national junior records in the mile and 3000 metres in 2005, as well as taking the gold medal in the 1500 metres at the 2005 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships.
