2023 Stanford Cardinal Baseball Team
The 2023 Stanford Cardinal baseball team represented Stanford University in the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Cardinal played their home games at Klein Field at Sunken Diamond under sixth year coach David Esquer. Previous season The Cardinal finished the regular season in first place and won the Pac-12 tournament. Stanford hosted their own Regional and won their Super Regional over UConn in three games. Stanford reached the College World Series for the first time in back-to-back seasons since 2002–2003. David Esquer
David Charles Esquer (born April 13, 1965) is an American college baseball coach (baseball), coach. He is the head coach of the Stanford Cardinal baseball team. He previously served as head coach of the California Golden Bears baseball team from 2000–2017. Early life and education Esquer attended Palma High School in Salinas, California where he played basketball, football, and baseball. Esquer was team captain and MVP of the baseball team and was named his high school's athlete of the year. He attended Stanford University and was a starting shortstop for Stanford Cardinal baseball under head coach Mark Marquess and as a senior helped Stanford win the 1987 College World Series, in which he was named to the all-tournament team for hitting .350 with six RBI. The Miami Marlins are an American professional baseball team based in Miami. The Marlins compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League (NL) East division. Joel Barlow High School
Joel Barlow High School is a public high school serving students in ninth through twelfth grades in Redding, Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. The school serves Easton and Redding students. The school is the sole institution in the Region 9 School District of Connecticut, made up of the towns of Redding and Easton, which each have their own public school systems for education up to the eighth grade. The Board of Education acts as its own Board of Finance, and although it reports to the boards of finance in both towns, they have no control over the school budget. La Mesa () is a city in San Diego County, located east of Downtown San Diego in Southern California. The population was 61,121 at the 2020 census, up from 57,065 at the 2010 census. Georgetown Hoyas Baseball
The Georgetown Hoyas baseball team represents Georgetown University in the Big East Conference, part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA's Division I (NCAA), Division I level of college baseball. Baseball is Georgetown's second oldest sport after cricket, with the first recorded game taking place in 1866, and the team formally organized and sanctioned in 1870.
