2023 Pac-12 Conference Women's Basketball Tournament
The 2023 Pac-12 Conference women's basketball tournament, presented by New York Life, was a postseason tournament held from March 1–5, 2023, at Michelob Ultra Arena on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. Washington State, seeded seventh out of the conference's 12 teams, won the tournament and with it the Pac-12 Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I women's tournament. ESPN journalist Alexa Philippou called Washington State's title run "one of the more improbable Power 5 conference tournament runs in recent memory." The championship game was the first in the tournament's history not to feature any of the top four seeds, and the Cougars were the lowest seed ever to reach the title game, much less win it. Michelob Ultra Arena
The Michelob Ultra Arena, formerly the Mandalay Bay Events Center, is a 12,000-seat multi-purpose indoor arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, located on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. It is owned and operated by MGM Resorts International, and was opened on April 10, 1999. MGM and brewing company Anheuser-Busch entered a naming-rights agreement in 2021, naming the arena after the company's Michelob Ultra beer. It is the home arena for the Las Vegas Aces of the Women's National Basketball Association. In 2022, it will also be home to the Las Vegas Desert Dogs of the National Lacrosse League. The 2022–23 Arizona Wildcats women's basketball team will represent the University of Arizona during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Wildcats will be led by seventh-year head coach Adia Barnes. Ceal Barry
Adele Cecilia "Ceal" Barry (born April 1, 1955) is an American retired basketball player and coach. She was head women's basketball coach at the University of Cincinnati from 1979 to 1983 and University of Colorado Boulder from 1983 to 2005. Barry was also a longtime college athletics administrator, having been associate athletic director and senior woman administrator at Colorado from 2005 to 2020 and interim athletic director at Colorado in 2013. She was inducted into the Colorado Women's Hall of Fame in 1997 and into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018. Title IX is the most commonly used name for the federal civil rights law in the United States that was enacted as part (Title IX) of the Education Amendments of 1972. Pac-12 Hall Of Honor
The Pac-12 Conference Hall of Honor recognizes former athletes and coaches who have made a significant impact to the tradition and heritage of the Pac-12 Conference. Established in 2002, one honoree is selected by each member institution in the conference annually. The inductions occur during the Pac-12 Conference men's basketball tournament. The Hall of Honor was originally limited to men's basketball, until it was opened to other sports in 2018. Cameron Brink
Cameron Lee Brink (born December 31, 2001) is an American college basketball player for the Stanford Cardinal of the Pac-12 Conference. Brink attended Mountainside High School and Southridge High School, both in Beaverton, Oregon, where she earned McDonald's All-American honors and was ranked the number three player in her class by ESPN. As a freshman at Stanford, she helped her team win the national championship. In her sophomore season, she was named Pac-12 Co-Player of the Year and led her team to the Final Four.
