2023 OFC Women's Champions League
The 2023 OFC Champions League was the inaugural edition of the OFC Women's Champions League, Oceania's premier women's club association football, football tournament organized by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC). AS Academy Féminine, AS Academy won the first ever edition of the tournament after winning all four of their matches. Teams A total of 6 teams from 6 Oceania Football Confederation, OFC member associations entered the competition. Group stage Originally the six teams were to be split into two groups of three with the two group winners advancing to the final. Eastern Suburbs AFC, Eastern Suburbs pulled out of the competition after the draw, citing concerns about costs, timing and security. The five remaining teams played each other on a round-robin tournament, round-robin basis at a centralised venue in Papua New Guinea. (), commonly referred as AS Academy Féminine or simply AS Academy () and often abbreviated to Asaf, is a New Caledonian Women's association football, women's football club based in Montravel in the Nouméa metropolitan area. They compete in the New Caledonian women's national championship, the women's top division of the Football in New Caledonia#League system, New Caledonian football league system. History AS Academy was created in 2017 by Coralie Brétégnier and Christelle Wahnawe in Montravel and are the only 100% female football organisation in the country. In their first year, the club won the Caledonian Futsal Cup. In 2019, the club won the Caledonian national championship and beat Païta FC in the Caledonian Cup final on penalties to complete Double (association football), the double for the first time in their history.
