2023 Nigerian Elections
The 2023 Nigerian elections will be held, in large part, on 25 February and 11 March 2023. The President and Vice President will be elected on 25 February, with incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari ineligible to run, being term-limited. Additionally, there will also be elections on the same day for the Senate and the House of Representatives. On 11 March, twenty-eight gubernatorial elections will be held alongside elections to state houses of assembly in all 36 states. Three additional gubernatorial elections will be held later in the year alongside potential rerun elections for regularly scheduled elections annulled from earlier in the year. 2023 Nigerian Presidential Election
The 2023 Nigerian presidential election will be held on 25 February 2023 to elect the President and Vice President. Incumbent APC President Muhammadu Buhari is term-limited and cannot seek re-election to a third term. Other federal elections, including elections to the House of Representatives and the Senate, will also be held on the same date while state elections will be held two weeks afterwards on 11 March. The winners of the election will be inaugurated on 29 May 2023, the former date of Democracy Day. Muhammadu Buhari
Muhammadu Buhari (born 17 December 1942) is a Nigerian politician and current president of Nigeria since 2015. Buhari is a retired Nigerian Army major general who served as the country's military head of state from 31 December 1983 to 27 August 1985, after taking power in a military coup d'état. The term Buharism is ascribed to the authoritarian policies of his military regime. Buhari ran for president of Nigeria in 2003, 2007, and 2011. African Democratic Congress
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) is a political party in Nigeria. As of 2022, Ralph Nwosu is the National Chairman.There are 2 ADC members currently in the Nigerian National Assembly. They are all members of the House of Representatives and represent constituencies in Bauchi State. There are no ADC members currently in the Nigerian Senate. The Social Democratic Party of Nigeria (SDP) is a centre-left political party in Nigeria. 2023 Nigerian House Of Representatives Election
The 2023 Nigerian House of Representatives elections will hold on 25 February 2023 where voters will elect members of the House of Representatives using first-past-the-post voting in all 360 federal constituencies. The last regular House elections for all districts were in 2019. Other federal elections, including the Senate elections and the presidential election, will also be held on the same date while state elections will be held two weeks afterwards on 11 March. The winners of these House elections will serve beginning in the 10th Nigerian National Assembly. Ibrahim Shekarau
Ibrahim Shekarau (born 5 November 1955) was a former Nigerian minister of education and two-term Governor of Kano State in Nigeria. He was elected in April 2003 and reelected in April 2007.
