The 2023 Mountain West Conference football season is the 25th season of College football for the Mountain West Conference. It is part of the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. 12 teams competed in the conference during the season. The season began on August 26 and will conclude on December 2 with the Mountain West Conference Football Championship Game. The full schedule for the season was released on March 2, 2023. Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Tory Horton is an American football wide receiver for the Colorado State Rams who began his college career with Nevada before transferring to Colorado State in 2022. A punter (P) in gridiron football is a special teams player who receives the snapped ball directly from the line of scrimmage and then punts (kicks) the football to the opposing team so as to limit any field position advantage. This generally happens on a fourth down in American football and a third down in Canadian football. Placekicker, or simply kicker (PK or K), is the player in gridiron football who is responsible for the kicking duties of field goals and extra points.
