The 2023 season is Molde's 16th consecutive year in Eliteserien, and their 47th season in the top flight of Norwegian football. Season events On 28 December 2022, Chelsea announced that David Fofana would join them on 1 January 2023. On 6 January, Molde announced the signing of Eric Kitolano to a three-year contract from Tromsø. On 6 January, Martin Ellingsen also confirmed that he had signed with the club for one more year. On 24 January, Molde announced the signing of Veton Berisha to a four-year contract from Hammarby. On 25 January, Molde extended their contract with Johan Bakke for an additional season, keeping him at Molde until the end of 2026. On 31 January, Álex Craninx left Molde. Molde Fotballklubb () is a professional football club based in Molde, Norway, that competes in Eliteserien, the top flight of Norwegian football. Founded on 19 June 1911, the club was originally known as International and changed its name to Molde in 1915. Molde are five-time league champions (2011, 2012, 2014, 2019 & 2022) and five-time Norwegian Cup winners (1994, 2005, 2013, 2014 and 2021), and have finished second in the league a further nine times. Molde is one of only two Norwegian clubs to have participated in the UEFA Champions League. The club's home matches are played at the 11,249-capacity Aker Stadion. Eliteserien
Eliteserien () is a Norwegian professional league for association football clubs. At the top of the Norwegian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Norwegian First Division. Seasons run from March to November with each team playing 30 matches (playing each other home and away). Most games are played on Sunday evenings. Eliteserien was founded in 1937 as Norgesserien (English: ''The League of Norway''), and the first season was the 1937–38 season. Alejandro "Álex" Marco Craninx Joostens (born 21 October 1995) is a professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper, for CF Fuenlabrada. Born in Spain, he has represented Belgium at youth level. Johan Johanessen Bakke (born 1 April 2004) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Molde. He is the son of former Norway International footballer Eirik Bakke. Veton Berisha (born 13 April 1994) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Molde in Eliteserien. His parents are from Kosovo and he is the younger brother of Valon Berisha. Berisha has represented Norway at every level from under-15 to full international level. Club career Berisha was born in Egersund, and started his career in the local club Egersunds IK. Martin Ellingsen (born 4 May 1995) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Eliteserien club Molde. Eric Bugale Kitolano (born 2 September 1997) is a Norwegian football midfielder who plays for Lillestrøm. Career Kitolano started his career in Gulset IF, playing on the senior team on the sixth tier before joining the junior team of Odd in 2014.
