The 2023 season was the Jacksonville Jaguars' 29th season in the National Football League (NFL), their third full season under the leadership of general manager Trent Baalke and their second under head coach Doug Pederson. With a Week 17 win over the Carolina Panthers, they matched their nine-win record from 2022. After starting the season with an 8–3 record, Jacksonville suffered a late-season collapse, losing five of their final six games, losing out on the AFC South division title to the Houston Texans, and missing the playoffs entirely after a Week 18 loss to the Tennessee Titans. On June 23, the Jaguars announced the team's home stadium would be renamed EverBank Stadium prior to the start of the season. AFC South
The American Football Conference – Southern Division or AFC South is one of the four Division (sport), divisions of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). It was created before the 2002 NFL season, 2002 season when the league realigned divisions after expanding to 32 teams. Since its creation, the division has had the same four members: the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Titans. Before the 2002 NFL season, 2002 season, the Texans did not exist, the Colts belonged to the AFC East, and the Titans and Jaguars were members of the AFC Central. The AFC South is often regarded as the NFL's "newest" division since at the time of its establishment none of the new division's members had played more than eighteen seasons in their current cities. The Colts had played in Baltimore until the end of the 1983 season, the Jaguars commenced play in 1995 and the Titans had been based in Houston (where they were known ...

2023 New York Giants Season
The 2023 season was the New York Giants' 99th in the National Football League (NFL) and their second under the head coach/general manager tandem of Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen. They failed to improve upon their 9–7–1 record from 2022 after a Week 10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Following an overtime victory by the Philadelphia Eagles over the Buffalo Bills in Week 12, the Giants were eliminated from contention for the NFC East title. They were eliminated from playoff contention following a Christmas Day loss to the Eagles. A historically poor offensive line and numerous injuries, particularly losing starting quarterback Daniel Jones to a torn ACL in a Week 9 loss against the Raiders, plagued the team throughout the year. Their offensive line allowed an abysmal 85 sacks (An average of 5 sacks per game), the second highest number of sacks allowed by a team in a single season. This was only behind the NFL record held by the 1986 Philadelphia Eagles, whose offensive line allowe ...

Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). How a linebacker plays their position depends on the defensive alignment, the philosophy of the coaching staff, and the particular play the offense may call. Linebackers are divided into middle linebackers, sometimes called inside linebackers, and outside linebackers. The middle linebacker, often called "Mike", is frequently ...

Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. In some systems, the tight end will merely act as a sixth offensive lineman, rarely going out for passes. Other systems use the tight end primarily as a receiver, frequently taking advantage of the tight end's size to create mismatches in the defensive secondary. Many coaches will often have one t ...

The 2023 season was the Chicago Bears' 104th season in the National Football League (NFL) and their second under the head coach/general manager tandem of Matt Eberflus and Ryan Poles. After the Carolina Panthers' loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on New Year's Eve, they secured the first overall pick in the NFL Draft for the second successive season. However, wins by the Los Angeles Rams and Green Bay Packers later that day eliminated the Bears from playoff contention for the third con ...
