2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier
The 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier was a cricket tournament that formed part of the qualification process for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. The first stage of the tournament was Division Two, which featured eight teams and was held in Botswana in September 2023. Botswana and Kenya qualified for Division One, after reaching the final of the Division Two tournament. Kenya defeated Botswana by 9 wickets in the final. The finalists in Division Two advanced to Division One, which featured six seeded teams and was played in Uganda in December 2023. In Division One, Zimbabwe and Uganda reached the final and therefore qualified for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier. Zimbabwe defeated Uganda in the final. Zimbabwe's Modester Mupachikwa and Precious Marange were the top run scorer and top wicket taker, respectively, in Division One. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. Botsogo Mpedi
Botsogo Mpedi (born 3 February 2003) is a Botswanan cricketer who represents Botswana at international level. She is fondly nicknamed Mochudi Express. Early life She pursued her interest in the sport of cricket in 2013 when she was in Stand Four at Rasesa Primary School. She was selected to the Kgatleng regional cricket team after impressing at a schools competition held in Mochudi. Forster Mutizwa (born 24 August 1985) is a Zimbabwean former cricketer. He played as a lower middle-order batsman and wicket-keeper. Playing career He was first called up to the national team for a tour of Bangladesh, and subsequently made his international debut in a One Day International against Kenya on 27 January 2009. Lauren Agenbag (born 16 August 1996) is a South African cricket umpire. Since February 2019, she has set several firsts in regards to women's umpiring in international and domestic cricket matches. Career On 1 February 2019, she stood in the opening Women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) match between South Africa and Sri Lanka, at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town. In doing so, she became the first South African woman to umpire a T20I match. Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) Oval is a sporting venue in Gaborone, Botswana, consisting of two separate cricket grounds (Oval 1 and Oval 2) in the vicinity of the University of Botswana Stadium. The grounds have been host to various ICC tournaments like 2011 ICC World Cricket League Division Seven as well as 2013 ICC World Cricket League Division Seven. In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress.
