2023 Gulistan Explosion
On 7 March 2023, an explosion happened in a market in Dhaka, Bangladesh killing at least 17 people while more than 140 were injured. The explosion took place at around 5:00 p.m local time in a busy market building in Siddiq Bazaar in Old Dhaka. Background This was the third explosion in Bangladesh within a week after explosion at an oxygen plant in Sitakunda and another building on Dhaka's Mirpur Road. Similar explosions have occurred in the last two years in Bangladesh, most notably the blast inside a four-storied Moghbazar building that resulted in the collapse and abandonment of the building. The explosion occurred at a store that sold sanitation materials on the building's ground floor. Authorities were not able to immediately provide the reason behind the explosion. Sitakunda or Sitakunda Town ( bn, সীতাকুণ্ড শহর) is an administrative centre and the sole municipality (''Paurashava'') of Sitakunda Upazila in Chattogram District, located in Chattogram Division, Bangladesh. 2021 Moghbazar Explosion
The Moghbazar explosion took place on 27 June 2021 at the wireless gate of Moghbazar in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. At least 7 people were killed and more than 100 injured, out of which 66 were admitted to various hospitals. Police suspect the incident was caused by frozen gas. Casualties and damage Hundreds of people were injured in the blast. 6 people were killed. Among the injured, about 66 people are undergoing treatment at the hospital. Most of the injured were from nearby buildings, a few bus passengers and pedestrians. The three-storey old building on 79 Outer Circular Road on the Mouchak-Magbazar road has partially collapsed. Sounds and blast waves caused by the blast damaged 14 nearby multi-storey buildings. 12 of the buildings are commercial and 2 are residential. Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (abbreviated DMCH) is a public medical college and hospital located in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. Rapid Action Battalion or RAB, is an anti-crime and anti-terrorism unit of the Bangladesh Police.
