The 2023 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football team represented Coastal Carolina University during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Chanticleers, led by first-year head coach Tim Beck, played their home games at Brooks Stadium in Conway, South Carolina as members of the East Division of the Sun Belt Conference. Preseason Media poll In the Sun Belt preseason coaches' poll, the Chanticleers were picked to finish in third place in the East division. Grayson McCall was named the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. The Sun Belt Conference (SBC) is a collegiate athletic conference that has been affiliated with the NCAA's Division I since 1976. Originally a non-football conference, the Sun Belt began sponsoring football in 2001. Its football teams participate in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). Centennial Bank Stadium
Centennial Bank Stadium (formerly known as Liberty Bank Stadium) is located on the campus of Arkansas State University and is home to their college football team, the Red Wolves. The stadium was named after the old nickname of the school, the Indians, until the 2007 season when it was renamed ASU Stadium. The venue was again renamed in September 2012 after Liberty Bank of Arkansas donated approximately $5 million to the university, and was renamed in 2013 after Liberty Bank was bought by Home BancShares, whose trade name is Centennial Bank. 2023 Georgia State Panthers Football Team
The 2023 Georgia State Panthers football team represented Georgia State University as a member of the Sun Belt Conference during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Panthers were led by seventh-year head coach Shawn Elliott and played their home games at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta. After a win against UConn on September 9, Georgia State became 2–0 for the first time since the 2019 season. One week later, on October 16, the program improved to 3–0 for the first time in its history after beating Charlotte on the road, 41–25. The victory against Charlotte featured the longest play in GSU program history, a 97-yard TD pass from quarterback Darren Grainger to WR Robert Lewis.
