2023 Challenge Cup Final
The 2023 Challenge Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2023 Betfred Challenge Cup, is the 122nd edition of the Challenge Cup, the main rugby league knockout cup tournament in British rugby league run by the Rugby Football League (RFL). It began over the weekend of 11–12 February 2023 and will end with the final, at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 12 August. The defending champions are Wigan Warriors, who won the 2022 Challenge Cup Final, by narrowly defeating Huddersfield Giants 16–14. Background The competition started on 11 February and will conclude with the final on 12 August. The final is returning to its traditional home, Wembley Stadium in London, after being played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2022. The Wigan Warriors are a professional rugby league club in Wigan, Greater Manchester, England, which competes in the Super League. Formed in 1872 as Wigan Football Club, Wigan was a founding member of the Rugby Football League, Northern Rugby Football Union following the History of rugby league, schism from the Rugby Football Union in 1895. The West Wales Raiders were a semi-professional rugby league club based in Llanelli, Wales. They competed in RFL League 1, League 1, the third tier of the British rugby league system, from 2018 until 2022. The club was founded in 2015 as an amateur club. Aldershot Military Stadium is a sports complex in Aldershot, England comprising a combined football and athletics stadium and a smaller adjoined rugby stadium. It is the home ground of the British Army's football and rugby teams, Aldershot, Farnham and District Athletic Club and the Army Athletics Association. British Army Rugby League
The British Army Rugby League team is the official rugby league team representing the British Army. The team was founded in 1994 when the Army first recognised rugby league as an official sport and lifted a ban on it. The new team was able to play in the Challenge Cup. Bedford Tigers RLFC is a rugby league club based in Bedford, England. The first team plays in the Southern Conference, with a second team in the East Premier League. Saddleworth Rangers are an amateur Rugby League side, formed in 1930, based at Shaw Hall Bank Road, Greenfield, Greater Manchester in the Saddleworth district of Oldham. Horsfall Stadium
Horsfall Stadium is a sports stadium just off Halifax Road in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, south-west of the city centre. It is the home of Bradford (Park Avenue) A.F.C. It was originally built as a running track in 1931, and was upgraded for football when Bradford (Park Avenue) moved to the stadium in 1994. The track was upgraded to a synthetic surface at the same time. In 2007, a number of improvements were made to the ground, including a new directors' and sponsors' room, a meeting room for the players and management, a new medical room, kit room and toilets.
