2023 Calgary Stampeders Season
The 2023 Calgary Stampeders season was the 65th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 78th overall. It was Dave Dickenson's seventh season as head coach and first as general manager following his promotion. The Stampeders managed to qualify for the playoffs for an 18th straight season after the team defeated the BC Lions in week 20 and the Saskatchewan Roughriders lost in the same week. This was the first time Calgary had a losing regular season record since the 2007 season. The team attempted to win the ninth Grey Cup championship in franchise history, but lost the West Semi-Final to the BC Lions. West Division (CFL)
The West Division is one of the two regional divisions of the Canadian Football League (CFL), its counterpart being the East Division. Although the CFL was not founded until 1958, the West Division and its clubs are descended from earlier leagues. The five teams in the West Division are the BC Lions, Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Elks, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Winnipeg Blue Bombers. There were also two now-defunct teams from the mid 1990s United States expansion of the CFL who played in the West Division. 2007 Calgary Stampeders Season
The 2007 Calgary Stampeders season was the 50th season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 69th overall. After promising second place finishes in the West Division in 2005 (11–7) and 2006 (10–8) they finished third in the West Division in 2007, with a disappointing 7–10–1 record, their first losing record in three seasons. They were defeated in the Western Semi-Final 26–24 by the eventual Grey Cup champion Saskatchewan Roughriders. The season was the last in which the team recorded more than two consecutive losses in the regular season in 10 years, recording three consecutive losses to close out the 2017 Calgary Stampeders season. 2023 CFL Draft
The 2023 CFL National Draft was a selection of National players by Canadian Football League teams that took place on May 2, 2023, at 8:00 pm ET. 72 players were chosen from among eligible players from Canadian Universities across the country, as well as Canadian players playing in the NCAA and NAIA. The draft was broadcast live on TSN for the first two rounds with subsequent rounds being streamed online. Linebacker
Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. The Temple Owls football team represents Temple University in the sport of college football. The Temple Owls compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision as a member of the American Athletic Conference (The American).
