2023 CONCACAF Boys' Under-15 Championship
The 2023 CONCACAF Boys' Under-15 Championship ( es, Campeonato de Niños Sub-15 CONCACAF 2023) is the fourth edition of the CONCACAF Boys' Under-15 Championship, the biennial international youth football tournament organized by CONCACAF for the men's under-15 national teams of North, Central America and Caribbean. It is held in Dominican Republic and Curaçao from 6 to 13 August 2023. The CONCACAF Boys' Under-15 Championship returned after 4 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic forced CONCACAF to cancel the tournament in 2021. UEFA guest team Portugal were the defending champions having won the 2019 League A, however, they were unable to defend their title as they were not invited for this edition.. The 2019 CONCACAF Boys' Under-15 Championship is an international football tournament, the third edition of the CONCACAF Boys' Under-15 Championship. The competition was initially set to feature up to 39 teams from the CONCACAF region as well as three invited teams from UEFA; however, the withdrawal of Jamaica led to a total of 41 teams. Overtime (sports)
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead.
